Charlie Hough's goal in life I think was to pitch until he legally qualified for social security. I can't remember if he actually did though.
I love what Mac is doing just signing everyone else around him, not letting Fitz dictate anything. Not letting him be the reason we let anyone else get away. He had his best year by far with this team the Jets and his best years overall with Chan Gailey. If he wants to up in leave for a money grab let him go right ahead. Because what teams are going start realizing is just because u pay a QB 18 mil doesn't mean he's going to play like one if he doesn't have the talent around him. We have Forte, Powell and now Robinson... No bias that is one of the top 5 cores in the league.
So, we have: - One of the best 1-2 WR punches in the NFL - A pair of 3 down backs who can succeed both split out wide and in the screen game, as well as pass protecting - A young, new power back - Intriguing secondary options in Enunwa, Thompkins, Smith and Amaro - The offensive coordinator who has made Fitz look his best, and with whom he's comfortable - A defense that's probably going to be top 10 again if it gets a rusher in the draft If Fitz was asked to draw up his perfect scenario, he'd probably draw up something like this. On the other hand, he has: - 0 reported other suitors I love Mac playing hardball. We have all the leverage, and the reality is that once Fitz caves this offense can be pretty dang good. And saving the extra money from not giving in is gonna help out other positions.
Well, how good the offense is doesn't matter when fitz throws picks like he did in buffalo, Tennessee, and the last bills game of this year and several more games his play cost the jets. I hope he walks and we roll with someone else, no point in having him here
49ers have $62m in cap space and are probably the only team left who can afford to trade for Mo. They also have a need for Mo. We have a need at qb and an interest in a qb they are trying to shop, I'd put the chances at much higher then 1%.
I like the moves, but we need to go OL heavy in the draft. None of the pretty weapons will mean anything if we can't block.
Not going to matter if they don't improve the oline. Its nice to have 3 backs but would have rather seen the money invested in the big guys up front. Well, that's my immediate reaction. Once I take a step back and remember to have faith in Macc, I will rely on the fact that its early and he has plan.
