Mo. That would be the only reason I would be in favor of going with Kaepernick over Fitz or RGIII. We need to trade Mo. That would clear $15.7 million in cap space. If all this had happened earlier, that wouldn't have helped us keep Snacks, because I can't see Mac matching what the Giants gave him. I don't think it would have gotten us Ladarius Green, Coby Fleener or Dwayne Allen, either, because I don't think that Mac would have matched one of those deals. But with that $15.7, it's still possible that there could be 2-3 2nd or 3rd tier FAs on the OL or at LB that Mac thinks could help the team, perhaps a PR, or Punter, or would give us money for camp cuts, and possible even some to carry over into next season.
I don't know what the Broncos could give up to get him, but how much of a say does kaepernick have in where he goes?
When it comes to sports, the words "legitimate" and "reporter," should not be used in the same sentence. Just like the words "art" and "stripper." Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
I would rather give Mo $15+ mil a year than trade him for Kaepernick. I have no faith that Kaep is the guy that can provide QB stability going forward.
yup I love it too. and you know the Kaepernick stuff might not even be real. The Jets could be playing hardball wth Fitz by ensuring they are in every single Kaepernick rumor. "you can explore other options... we are too" wink
the Bills game didn't 'literally' cost him millions. he wasn't even the primary reason the Jets lost. lol do you really think Mac would enter a negotiation and state, 'well 10 wins was great, the 31 TDs were cool, but you didn't make the playoffs'. haha, only fans take narrow minded positions like that. none of this comes down to one game, or one pick, or anything like that.
Seems like a 2nd is the asking price. Let's just hope this is all a ploy to get Fitz to sign because that would be awful.
@AlbertBreer As for the Jets, QB Ryan Fitzpatrick knows where they stand. Their offer is a little better than what Chase Daniel got in Philly.
I just don't see how the Jets improve by bloating the cap at a position where they have an overload of talent. The Jet's DL has been among the best in the NFL since 2013 and we've gotten 8, 4 and 10 wins out of it. We added Leonard Williams to it last year. We're going to have to let one of those guys go and given the way the window looks right now letting Mo go makes the most sense. He's going to cost us right now and we have no idea if we're going to be highly competitive this year and in 2017 and the odds seem to be against it in either year.
yes that was a really dumb opinion. It wasnt 1 game that cost Fitzpatrick millions it was 11 years of games. He's being hurt in negotiations way more by the fact that he's been a journeyman and that another team already screwed themselves by giving him a big contract more than any 1 game
I know. He has to do that. Is Petty leverage also is my question. If he lands Kap giving up Mo' maybe Petty's not a solution in his mind after all. Just putting Petty into the equation At least Geno would be gone you would think., So there's that.
