Someone's already alluded to this, but I wish Mac would call Fitz's agents and give them a deadline to sign, or the offer will be lowered by $1 million per week for the next 2 weeks. If he hasn't signed by then the Jets will move on.
LMAO! Post of the day. So true. Fuck it. I was going to post something about how the Jets should trade Wilkerson and maybe some draft pick to Chicago to get Cutler, but with Harrison gone, Wilkerson probably stays and then the Jets lose him next year. Fucking A.
Don't be on edge. If he comes back that's a good thing. If he doesn't, well it was already looking a bit like a downer year and the Jets can take the opportunity to get a younger QB prepped in Gailey's offense next year.
This isn't a bad thing. You can't keep players forever under a capped system and overpaying your own is just one way to screw yourself. If Mo goes next year he goes and the Jets will likely still have a good d-line.
I'd be more willing to chance RG3, but then again I'm sure Gailey can make a system that works for Kaep
Huh? As I stated initially, we have all the leverage. If he and his agents want to be greedy, fuck them.
I knew it was a Trump reference. But that kind of tactic has been used long before Trump burst upon the scene. It's pretty obvious that Fitz and his agents got greed and were trying to cash in on the crazy Sam Bradford contract. They in essence created the situation, since Fitz wants to be back and the Jets want him back. I want Mac to be seen as a strong negotiator and to win in these kinds of situations. That's more important to me than whether Fitz actually comes back or not, as I don't think Fitz is that good. He's a good fit, and was better than any of the other FA QBs last season or this season, at least in terms of fit in Gailey's offense. If Petty's not ready, then Fitz is a better option than Geno, and that's about it.
The QB signings so far bolster Fitz argument for more money. Bradford 18mil, Osweiller 18mil... Not sure I'd sign him for more than 2 years, but what is plan B? You don't sign Forte looking to the future. The plan must be to win now, so you need a legit starting QB.
