Why? He won't be cheap, and has character and work ethic concerns. much much rather keep Mo, sign Douzable again for the short term, and let the Big Cat continue to develop. should spend what little we have elsewhere.
i said he won't be cheap, which is true. and yes, you can have character concerns and still not be cheap. happens all the time. look at Hardy.
but you have to be really good, like hardy. i don't think fairley will be that expensive. i'm guessing he will be insurance in case douzable leaves.
I think Fairley would be the replacement for Snacks. Nick Fairley, also productive on passing downs and solid against the run. He has upside if his head is on straight. More potential than Snacks in terms of the passing downs. We should be able to keep Douzable too, he's cheap. All this interest in other players, I have to think a deal with Mo will be done soon ... or the imminent trade.
I hope not. The man was undrafted, and made something out of himself. He should cash out on the biggest deal possible, but if Snacks does leave the Jets for another team - I hope the pay-day was worth it.
Nobody would blame Snacks for taking more $$. But if he goes to Tennessee he is going to have to be that dline. That wasnt the case here and he benefited from that (just like Mo and Sheldon did to some extent but they were drafted where they were for a reason) So he better be as good as that contract is gonna be worth.
Looking like he's gone. Especially with the Fairley rumor. Too bad. He did a great job for us. He was great last year, and earned that pay day. Good for him If it means that helps us bring back Fitz, so be it. That's life in the NFL....Especially when you're strapped for dinero. But that's a hit losing him
Fairley is a rotational player at this point. How are his feet? He had issues with them as a young player as I recall. Did those ever get resolved or is he on the Dewayne Robertson track and likely to retire early?
Huge difference between a UDFA playing for peanuts for 4 years and finally getting a big deal and a guy drafted #1 and always on the best contract even if it means holding his team over a barrel. No disrespect for Revis talent because it is real but Snacks worked really hard to set up his one payday and he deserves to reap the benefits now.
I don't think it's wrong for anyone to get as much money as they possibly can if a team is willing to pay them. Regardless where they were drafted
Dwight Freeney would be a quality signing. He could come fairly cheap, and had 8 sacks in a limited role last year. Could be the veteran OLB we need.
Ladarius Green getting strong interest from the Steelers. Steelers love TE's who can block. C'mon Jets, at least inquire before they get him! anyone know anything about Punter Bryan Anger (other than the cool name for a Punter)?
yep, and Watson going to Baltimore. Steelers and Ravens have a good nose for TE's. Like the anti-Jets of the TE position.
