I doubt we're giving Fitz that much but we'll see

But when we're dead last in cap space and can actually get a RB of equal value for about a 1/5th of what Ivory just got , then yea 6mil a year makes a ton of difference.

You doubt it but that's what his agent wants and that's why talks are so far apart.Cousins got 20 mill guranteed for this season alone and wtf did he do that deserves that?If he deserves that and you look at what Bradford got of course his agent isn't gonna get low balled,he had a carrer year and broke records and had us in position to make a run .If Denver loses Osweiler don't be surprised to see Fitz get $15 mill a year from the Broncos

So long Ivory, and thanks for the memories.

I'm guessing the Jags hope that by using him along with Yeldon, they can keep him from wearing down like he did with us. Say TJ gets 65% and Chris gets 35? Seems like a good bit of money for a part time bulldozer, but we'll see how it works out for them.
I could also be way off base here, but that's what makes sense to me. Try to harness his positives while mitigating the negative by limiting the carries and therefore hits he has to take.

    What's Fitz's market?

    Us and Cleveland.

Philly bid against themselves for Bradford.

Fitz will come back for 12 a year. Only way he might not is if Osweiler goes to Houston. Then Fitz might go to Denver.

At $6 mil per screw it.. We are better off drafting a RB

We knew this was coming, over 6M a year is too much $ for Ivory... Hopefully we re-sign Powell and then maybe draft a guy.

I'd say the Rams before Cleveland. The Browns already have a cheaper stopgap in McCown who had 12 TD's and 4 INT's last year and very good numbers with the Bears two years ago.

With the Jets' cap situation and the insane contracts being handed out, the Jets aren't going to be a better team this season without Fitz, Snacks or Ivory.

Ivory's a good RB when healthy. The problem is he's never healthy for an entire season. You just aren't looking at the realities of the Jets' cap situation or of Ivory's health. I get that he is an exciting player. I can understand how/why you like him so much, but if you step back and look at it logically/rationally, he's just not worth it.

How do you think we're going to pay Fitz $15 million a year? There's no possible way that can happen, barring the Jets cut Mangold and Brick, and then they have no one to play C or LT.

How are we supposed to pay Fitz even $12 million? I don't see that happening.

You can restructure contracts and create $10-15 million of space seemingly at will

    Not surprising.

I pegged Harrison and Ivory as sure goners when FA opened up.

Once cuts and restructures happen we will all see how much room is available but I think it's going to take 12per to get him back.

If the Jets went to him tomorrow with 3 years for 36mil and 20 guaranteed there's no doubt he's accepting it.

The Jets don't have that many players with high dollar contracts. Revis' money can't be touched. I don't think it's nearly as easy as you claim, but even if it were, at what cost? Restructuring contracts pushes money into future years, and for older players, that's just not a smart thing to do.

You're probably right about how much Fitz and his agents want, but we all know that he isn't worth it. I say thanks for the exciting year and wish him well with his new team. There's no way I want him back at even $12 million per year. IMO he's not worth over $9 million, and even that is a push.

Can't argue with that. It's gonna be a very tough choice for Mac if Fitz gets an offer somewhere else and sees if we'll match it.

I think it's fairly likely he's back with us but like I said before if Osweiler bolts Denver it's bye bye to Fitz.

    Not surprising.

I will always love Ivory, but his running style is not sustainable

Thanks for the memories, would love for the Jets to resign Powell

A trade for Ryan Mathews would be a solid move right now.
