He was fun to watch but Jets had to let him go though. You shouldn't put that type of money into the running back position where new guys emerge all the time. Ivory also disappeared at times and usually was at his best in September.
Ivory missed one game last year and still had over 1,000 yards 30 rec and 8 tds.....He has missed 2 games since he arrived here.Great point though.......Nice job rewriting history
The Jets can invest a third or fourth round pick on a younger RB. I'm glad that Ivory got paid in a brutal market for running backs these days.
Lol then no ones healthy if that's your point, everyones banged up through out the season.Ivory had a carrer year and we weren't the same team when he was limted.Your even furthering my point he wasn't "healthy" and still made the pro bowl and put up real numbers.Unless we plan on trading up for Elliot, Ivory was the best option in FA
Dude, you are clueless. It's not just about games missed. Even though he only missed two games since he arrived, he starts numerous games but can't finish them. He ALWAYS gets banged up and his production falls off a cliff the latter part of the season. He's a nice player, but not worth $6 million per season. He was never coming back.
How many times did he suit up and then play limited snaps? He had games with 6, 8, 10 and 11 attempts. It's not like he was fighting through the pain and giving us monster performances. I liked the guy, but no way in hell was bringing him back for $6+ mil a year the best option.
He also had around 500 yards after 4 games so not exactly 6 million a year material for 500 yards over the final 12 games. This was the first year he broke 1000 yards and he barely made it. His norm is in the 800 range. His productivity doesn't line up with what the jags are paying.
The whole AFC South is improving really. I liked Ivory but his injuries the last two third of the year were a distraction and I was prepared for him to move on after the six-carry nonsense in Buffalo.
So we are a better team without Ivory?I would have loved for you to tell us of this during the season. You say this shit about every player that leaves the Jets all of you do
Ivory averaged 13 carries per game from weeks 10-17. You're gonna give $6 mil a year to that guy? No one is saying we are better without him. Plenty of people just recognize its not the end of the world without him. Powell was our best back the last portion of the season and it's because Ivory couldn't stay on the field.
Yea well he works well in a tandeem situation,a power back and a finesse pass catcher type and you can do a little bit of everything. Its not just about him its about what it brings to the playbook and what you can do with both
Well atleast you are looking at the glass half full in that post. And he missed 1 game but was limited in a handful of others. He's an above average RB when fully healthy. Which if you're judging by last season was about 8 games. And you want us to spend 6 mil per on that? Get real
Lol we are about to give Ryan Fitzpatrick 15 million a year and your worried about 6mill a year?Your undervaluing the RB position like everyone else, but then you will cry that we have no running game
