How would you feel if Geno Smith is the opening day starter?

You lost me on the 2nd to last sentence.

Anyway...Sancho was way better than GeNo.

    Look at the results.

Very reasonable post and I can't claim that I know what Macc is thinking but if he thinks that a step back to 6-10 will fly in NYC then he doesn't understand what he has gotten himself into.

6-10 is probably the best thing for the team but if it happens with Geno under center Macc will get killed for letting Fitz walk.

Hopefully Macc is the right guy and Woody realizes that this is a marathon - not a sprint. What I want more than anything for my Jets is sustainable success driven by continuity in the front office and on the sidelines.

I've been wrong before but I really believe in Macc and Bowles. If they are OK rolling with Geno then so am I.

It's me I hate every player when the Jet jersey is exchanged for another. I'm a homer and proud of it. In fact I rarely watch the NFL unless my Jets are playing..

Sometimes I hate 'em when they put on a Jets jersey.

    Thanks.

How/why will he get killed when he didn't have the cap space top pay him? He's not a miracle worker. IMO the only people killing Mac under those circumstances would be those that are cerebrally challenged or ignorant of the facts.

I haven't agreed with every move that Mac made, but I do think that he is already light years better than either Tanny or Idzik. With Wolf and Casserly having counseled Woody on Mac's hiring, I don't think he will be so quick to cut bait. I think that he will give Mac and opportunity to succeed. We want the same things. Do I want to see Geno starting again? No, but it may not come to that. Petty may be given a chance to compete and beat Geno out, or the Jets might bring in another cheap vet. I'm sure that they probably aren't happy about the prospect of having to roll with Geno, but they had no way of knowing that Lurie would give such an outlandish contract to Bradford or that he wouldn't be able to re-sign Mo.

Way better? They practically have the same stats.
Geno Year 1 vs Dirty Sanchez Year 1
    2013 vs. 2009

    CMP% 55.8 vs 53.8

    YDS 3046 vs 2,444

    TD 12
    vs 12

    INT 21
    vs 20

    Rating 66.5
    vs 63.0

Geno Year 2 vs Dirty Sanchez Year 2
    2014 vs 2010
    CMP% 59.7 vs
    54.8
    YDS 2,525 vs 3,291
    TD 13 vs 17
    INT 13 vs 13
    Rating 77.5 vs 75.3

I'll add in the fact that Geno cost us a second round pick while Dirty Sanchez cost us a first and a second

Look at the results? Are you seriously going to imply that the Jets success in '09&'10 had anything to do with that pathetic excuse for a quarterback?

I wouldn't mind seeing him start actually. I think he will improve under the new coaching system and style.

I'd feel like this team just invents ways to torture this fanbase.

It would absolutely be the SAME OLD JETS.

I'd like to see Geno win for two reasons: I'm a Jets fan and it'd piss a lot of people off. CG knew what Fitz was capable of and STILL wanted Geno to start. That's all you need to know.

    That being said, go Petty!

His accomplishments include being dragged to the AFC championship twice, being on the cover of several magazines but most impressive is dating Kate Upton.

I take issue with your second paragraph for the obvious reasons.

Geno starting gets us a top ten pick in 2017 draft

    That's it and that's all

    the booger wipe was epic.

I hate to admit that for a minute I thought Sanchez was the shit.

Early one season he slapped the Pats while I watched from a hotel room with a beautiful view of the Pacific.

    Life was good.
