$15 m is not market value for a guy like Fitzpatrick. I also don't believe that article, one bit. They might be trying to Call them e out on their bluff, sure, but I don't believe that figure. If they were wiling to pay $15 mil for him-- he'd have a contract already

My guess is that Macc feels he knows the risk with letting Fitz walk..... He has all season to think about it and feels Fitz isn't worth the money. Too many bad contracts can cripple a team and we have enough as it is. Got to give our players credit.... To be fair, i think 15 is high but closer than the 7-8 that has been getting thrown around here. Fitz is going to sign somewhere for north of 10. I think thats a very safe assumption right now.
Let the people that the Jets hired put their stamp on the team. If they don't think Fitz. is worth that kind of investment then it is time to move on.
if the report is true, hopefully mac is offering 15 mill in total guarantees ... 10 mill guaranteed this year, and 5 mill next year with incentives for more if hes still the starting qb. if hes not, 5 mill is about market value for an experienced backup
I can see that as a point of contention for fitz. He is probably looking for 2 years min. at statting salary
So far, Broncos and Rams mentioned as landing spots for Fitzpatrick next to Jets, but his value is 15M/year, what a joke BS Mehta...If true, I hope Macc won't call his agent anymore, throw Petty into deep water and that's it.
If the Texans sign Osweiler if I'm Fitzpatrick the Jets isn't my best fit. The Broncos would be, and if they are willing to pay him 10M+ see ya.
