And exactly how would we go about getting a QB in the next 3 days? Sign Osweiler to a long-term deal? Sign RGIII? It's not like there are better alternatives than Fitzpatrick playing under a reasonable salary cap number. The problem is that somebody might make him a silly offer and then we're just screwed, but not by the FO or ownership, at least not by our FO or ownership. We're lucky the Redskins franchised Cousins. It would have been just like them to make Fitzpatrick an offer and let Cousins go.

I would rather sign RG3 to an incentive laden 1 yr deal than a 34 yr old Fitzpatrick to multi year contract.
If Fitz is being greedy, I don't want him at any cost. He isn't worth more than $7m a season and he won't have success elsewhere without Gailey, Marshall and Decker. Hell, he should take a discount for stuffing up badly at Buffalo.

Also as Free Agency progresses, his price goes down. There are only so many teams that need veteran starting QB's to start for them. The 49ers and the Browns. The Texans and the Bills wont want him back. After that maybe the Broncs, maybe the Cowboys want Romo insurance? His best spot is right here on the Jets and I agree Mac is being very savvy in how he is playing this.

Adding to that, there are 5 starting QB seats including the Jets. (Niners, Browns, Broncos, Texans and Jets) Everyone has the Browns taking a rookie QB in the draft. Would Fitz want to go to that team before the draft? I wouldnt unless they guaranteed I'd be the starter in 2016 and 2017. But if your the Browns and you took Wentz or Goff, why would you do that? Same deal with the Niners. That leaves the Texans, Broncos or Jets. And these teams would rather have Osweiler, or maybe Kaep, or RG3.
