Fitz will test the market, realize no one is paying him going rate for a franchise type QB ~15-16 mil a year, and come back to the jets and accept his 3 years at 6-7 mil per.

On the field it would be best for both sides if Fitz returned. Off the field, if Fitz has an opportunity to cash out I can't honestly blame him. He made a 'little' money in Buffalo but other than that has been a football gypsy and could possibly make more money on this contract than all his other ones combined.
Except there's no real option that he has to jump on immediately unless he wants to overpay Osweiler which sort of renders that whole can't afford Fitz argument hollow.

Agree here. He is a legit starter. If the Jets can get him for 10, they've done well. He will probably end up getting 10-12 with the Jets or 15 elsewhere. Thats how I'd handicap it.

Nothing would scream same old Jets than bringing back Fitz, a career loser who couldn't get the Jets to the playoffs having the best season of his career versus one of the easiest schedules, if not the easiest, in the NFL. Those anomalies are certainly what we should expect to continue another season with Fitz. How many teams did we play with wining records? 1? The Pats?

Was impressed with McCown last year even tho' I was rooting for JM to take the field (purely for fun). If the Browns took Fitz and dumped McCown.........what sought of cost would we be looking at to bring him here for a year or possibly two?
We currently have the least amount of cap space in the league.....Cut D brick,Kerley and Cumberland and get this done.
I would not be surprised by this result. I have been coming around all day to the notion the Jets must include a number and guarantee for 17, or they will risk losing Fitz.
