Dude all you ramble on about is reducing Bricks salary by $5 mil which is so unrealistic and embarrassing that it's just getting annoying. We all get that we need some work on our OL, Breno and Winters are horrible! Brick, Mangold and Carp are still good solid players and no need to hit the panic button on almost every post.
I would like to see Mangold, Marshall and Decker push two or three million each into next year. I have full faith they will be on the team in two years and will still be big contributors. Revis is risky... Not this year. If Brick refuses to take a pay cut I would have to cut him.
The Jets are starting in five million dollar hole already at Lt. ( how much it costs the Jets if they cut Brick) . So any veteran Fa Lt they look to sign you have to add his salary + that five million . To figure how much it's costing this year at Lt. Jmo the Jets can't cut brick this year( there is no realistic Option on their roster), because the only way they save money if they draft a Lt at 20 . You really want to go into next season counting on a rookie playing the Most demanding position on the offense line. The Jets almost have to keep brick this year-to be the bridge for that Lt that they draft to be his replacement.( ideally you would hAve liked that player to have been already drafted- sitting on their roster. Brick knows he holds all the cards .
With what? Can't be the fact if the Jets cut Brick they take a five million cap hit. That five million still counting against the cap.
If the Jets really believed that nonsense, they would have cut Brick already. You think Brick is really sweating Qvale honestly taking his job. If I was Brick , I would say I'm not taking a cent less than fourteen million - go ahead cut me and give the job to Qvale. Some team would sign Brick in a heart beat. Easy would get 8 million+ 5 million from jets= 12 million next year.
No the dead money is money he already received that the cap hit was spread across the life of the contract. And 8 +5 =13 There was alot wrong with that post
Brick does not hold all the cards, because there is a 9 million dollar savings if we cut him. There is no way he is playing at a 14 million dollar cap hit its just unreasonable. Ideally he takes a pay cut and redoes his contract and can become that bridge the gap guy for our future LT. But if he says I'm not taking a pay cut, you have to cut him.
Mangold went to the pro bowl last year so he should have some trade value. Cleveland just lost Alex Mack (opted out of $8 mil per year deal) who was making similar money.
