Hey Antoni Turkish restaurants don't make this here in USA. Too reasons. 1) it takes long time to cook due to eggplants 2) the meat has too much fat. Tell me where you are and I can suggest some Turkish restaurants for you.
I'm in the greater Boston area these days, though I'm hardly ever in the city. Boston kind of sucks unless you're in your 20s going to college, after that you just come here to work and get the fuck out. I love eggplant parmesan so when I saw that I figured it was a decent shot.
Hey Cman--have you ever smoked a boneless leg of lamb? I'm making a lamb tagine tomorrow for a bunch of folks and I am supposed to use a boneless lamb shoulder but just in case I couldn't get one tomorrow at the butcher, I bought a boneless leg of lamb today. I figure I'll stick it in the freezer and roast it at some point unless you've had good experiences with smoking them. Let me know, no rush. _

I'm not really sure you need "prime meat" for smoking. I don't even think there is such thing as "prime" pork butt and Perdue Oven Stuffer Roasters were great when I smoked them. I've gotten really good pork tenderloins and pork loins from Costco. I have a butcher in the next town over for when I want something special but my local Shoprite has a very good meat section. I think the only time "prime" makes a big difference is for really nice steaks and chops. And those I only grill--not smoke. But I'm a novice--maybe Cman will scold me _
