Then, people deserve continued stagnant wages and all the pain because of that... Debates without policy talk are just pointless...So Fox and other channels get their ratings and then what? We still don't know what these guys want to actually do to improve this country...

He should learn from his current Senate experience that really doesn't work in this country. He hasn't gotten anything done except run his mouth AND cost this country $24 billion with that shutdown bullshit a few years ago.

However it's seen as a positive characteristic by the average GOP voter at this point, so it probably helps keep him relevant in the primaries. When you build an electorate that is intolerant and uncompromising you get front running candidates like Trump and Cruz getting their votes. Jeb Bush and Kasich are both tolerant and capable of compromise on many things, but the GOP electorate that has been build over the last 8 years does not favor those qualities. Paul Ryan is another guy who would have been too stiff and right-wing in 2000 but is too much of a soft lefty for the GOP these days. Boehner was a freaking Commie Clown by the standards of the party. I don't think this can be fixed at this point but the establishment has to try. The alternative is going to be to abandon the Tea Party to form the New Conservatives (Neocons for the most part) and that's going to be a really tough row against the tide, even with the kind of money people will spend in the effort.

Kasich is on the Neocon playbook. That's where he's trying to make his stand. Jeb Bush would have been saying basically the same thing if he'd survived the initial cut. Rubio wants to say it but he's afraid to go out on a limb on anything that is not a bedrock GOP Conservative idea.
I'm on delay here (DVR) but Cruz going against the gay marriage even now in this day and age probably lost him most of the boost he picked up.
