yeah that was a terrible call slash from behind right below the knee and it's matching penalties then there was the shove into the boards headfirst which did get called for 2 minutes but could've been a major it's like before the games against the Rangers and Devils, their practice was just the best ways to injure guys
Oilers down 3-2, they just got screwed out of a goal delayed penalty on Minnesota, Edmonton maintained possession for a while longer, and scored ... but a Minnesota player touched the puck as it was going in ruled it's a touch before the goal, so no goal, and power play goes into effect (naturally Edmonton fails to score on the PP).
Caps first team to 90 points tonight, before any other team in the East even got to 80. Really proud of this team. They just need to figure out how to focus down the stretch. Hard to play tough with such a lead in the standings, but can't let up before the playoffs. Could be tricky.
Is there any doubt that Edmonton will finish last, win the lottery and obtain another top prospect to ruin? What a horrible franchise
Yeah that'd be a joke, but there is doubt now because K Lowe and the boys aren't running the show anymore, there is a chance the new staff values competent defensemen and will trade down for picks/players. Also it'd be pretty funny to see the Leafs not get #1 after tanking. Jagr moves past Brett Hull into 3rd all time goals. He's about 50 away from Gordie Howe, had he not went over to the KHL he'd probably have already passed him.

I am wondering where Weber will fit? Maybe take over for Orlov or Schmitt, but I feel both have been playing pretty good.
Rangers Report @rangersreport 1h1 hour ago Brooks Laich ... faceoff guy, good defensively, PK type ... on waivers ... Only problem is he's owed $4.5M next year. Update cleared waivers, assigned to AHL, Beagle activated off LTIR
Florida making a push bringing aboard Purcell and Hudler with all the depth they already have. Wonder how long Huberdeau will be out for
Potential Stanley Cup Final preview was great today in Chicago. Kane and the Hawks outlasted Ovechkin and the Capitals 3-2. If they somehow both make it to the end, it would be an entertaining Final.
I assumed the move was to free up cap space to make another move. Looks like Caps did nothing at deadline though.
I agree, but I did not see the reason to trade Brooks Laich then. His production has been BEYOND down. He is a -6 on this Caps team which is by far the worst of any player. Still, he is a fan favorite who has been here since the Ovechkin era began. It would have been nice for him to be a part of this Cup run. However, this team has high standards and he clearly wasn't meeting them, even as a 4th liner.
