I really like the creativity. What I really like is the Belichick-like philosophy of handling players perceived to be on the decline with D'Brick (especially) & Mangold. You're rebuilding, -- however, doing it with young experienced players. Despite the craziness, I would not associate a "Madden" term to this. If I had said exactly what Mike Maccagnan was going to do in FA last year, - I would have been told I was nuts.
However, - we can do better than Westerman at pick #43 (Joshua Garnett / Landon Turner / or even Vadal Alexander) as we have a pure power running game.
I was a Josh Perry fan for a long time until I watched a lot of his game tape in detail ----- he makes way too many tackles past the LOS for me.

I am glad you like it.

We can get one of the top 3 guards at #43. I pushed Westerman up due to his combine performance.

Drafting this early involves a lot of guesswork.

I thought a lot more people would be upset about the prospect of losing Mangold.

If the cap room was there I would have kept him.

I wasn't really upset by anything, and appreciated the creativity, although I think it went a little too far and wasn't realistic. I do think a lot of Jets fans and posters here would be upset if the Jets traded Mangold. I think more haven't said so either because they haven't read the thread yet (I could be wrong, but my impression is that a lot of posters on the general Jets forum never make it over to the draft forum), or because they just didn't think it realistic.

Compared to our actual post-season last year this draft is totally realistic.

Sign Revis, Cromartie, Skrine AND Gilchrist. Use 5th & 6th round picks for stud WR and # 1 QB.

Who saw any of that coming?

I think this would work out awesome for us. You just don't see blockbuster deals like this in the NFL. Not to mention you're turning the entire roster over which kills continuity that can definitely damage a team.

Cool scenario though where value seems to work out. I'd like to see you propose it on a Giants board and see what they think.

The giants will have a few OL returning from injury so they don't have as money holes as it appears. No way they trade.
