I agree I think Lamar Miller is the play. Not alot of carries and never seems to take a hard direct hit and he can take it to the house. He should be a high priority after some OT/OG free agent signings.

Dominating behind one of the best lines in the NCAA is nice and all, but you need to watch more closely to see who he really is as a player. When he gets to the hole clean he has impressive power and top end speed. When forced to move laterally or hit behind the line he is not the type who can reset his feet and get back up to speed quickly.

Your man crush on him Blinds you to looking for his flaws. You posted almost the exact same comment in three threads last night, it's obvious your a big fan of his.

He is not AD, not Gurley, not Marshanw Lynch. He is more of a Brandon Jacobs type runner. He'll be very good as part of a 1-2 punch but is not a world class running back.

To be honest the Brandon Jacobs comparison is in the ball park but his athleticism, speed and freakish build is better. That will separate him from that compairson.

Being a Bama fan does give me a bit of a bias opinion and it might cloud my judgement on him a bit. I don't hide from that but I also watch all of Bama football for the last decade and yes they had a excellent OL but they also played against the BEST defences in the nation and Henry ran over all of them. He outshined TJ Yeldon and TJ looked pretty good this year as a pro.

Derrick Henry has the exact same measurables as Von Miller who is also an athletic freak. He's built like a freak OLB and that doesn't come around in every draft. That 37" vertical is ridicules. His 40 time being a 4.5 is also crazy for a kid that weighs in at 247 LB.

His ability to cut outside is elite and you can't tackle him with an arm tackle he just blows by everyone.

The jump cut he makes early in That video is impressive for a man his size, but his agility outside is far from elite.

I think watching actual game tape is time better spent than a highlight video. Watch all his runs in the Georgia game again. When the line gives him room to build up speed he's very tough to stop, but he is not a player that creates on his own. He does run through a lot of arm tackles, it's stupid to hit a man his size up high. His best runs in this game are either beautifully blocked or him out running people to the outside. He is not an elusive runner or used much in the passing game. He will fit well in a zone blocking scheme where he gets to make one cut and go or with an elite line like Dallas has, but I don't see him as a great prospect.

I just don't know who is going to tackle him when he as big and more athletic than most LBs.

His 4.5 speed with his size and build is truly one of a kind. If he played for Dallas I think he could be an absolute super star.

He will definitely benefit by getting drafted by a team with a zone blocking scheme. When he gets outside the numbers he is a freight train that nobody in the secondary can tackle, they just get run over.

Btw that Georgia tape is one of his worst and he still broke their will late in that game. He also still ran for 148 yards and a TD

In addition, he's not a fit here if for no other reason than we don't employ a zone blocking scheme with our OL. IMO we need someone with better speed, elusiveness and hands.

First off, your rounding his time down to fit your position on him. He ran a 4.57, which is closer to a 4.6 than a 4.5. That is still an impressive speed for a big man, but it's silly that your doing it.

Second, who cares how many yards he gained in any NCAA game or season. If NCAA stats were indicative of NFL success than we would be celebrating David Klinger and Andre Ware in canton right now.

Watch what he does and does not do well. It's all right there to see.

First off when you run a 4.57 speed you still have 4.5 speed in any discussion! Didn't you watch the combine?

As for Henry.. Freaks like that don't come around every day. He will be good.
