I like Eliot. Plays big when it counts..Walters early mock has him going at 22, with a projected 40 time of 4.42..you'd get a player thats never going to be a home run hitter, but at the very least a poor mans Curtis Martin. (Though...I don't think any back since Martin has had the ability to take over a game being lined up everywhere on the field)
I don't think the RB depth is all that great like we've seen the past few years. There is a very big gap between the top 3 guys and the rest of the pack in my opinion. I think there is even a significant gap between 1-3.
I know some will question my homerism for OSU players but I try to stay as neutral as possible with draft prospects, especially OSU players because of my fandom. With that disclaimer out of the way. I think if Zeke is sitting there at 20, he will absolutely be the best player available at that point and I would be extremely surprised if the Jets passed on him given their BPA mantra from last draft. I think he is a top 5 talent in this draft, I put him ahead of Joey Bosa as well, he will only be drafted outside of the top 5 because of the devalued position. I don't think he will be there at 20 though.
W without question, at 20 he is BPA. As I sId Walters early mock has him going at 22. Bosa is, however a bigger impact player if drafted by the right defense. Agree with the devalued position observation...but with the Wr corps we have now...Zeke would be a beast, if Smith can stay on the field and Amaro gets it.
Fitz needs a good run game and if we don't grab a top RB in the draft they will grab one in the FA market.
I'm intriuged by Ezekial Elliot (1st), Kenneth Dixon (2nd/3rd) and Jordan Howard (3rd). I've loved Ivory, but if I had to choose, I'd resign Powell and invest in another main RB
Never mind trading down for Henry this kid is going to be a superstar! We will be lucky if he is there at #20!!! He is a one of a kind back a true Freak!!!
What makes you say that? Rbs his size usually don't make it in the nfl. I'm not sold on him would like to hear some reasons why people are.
The things that make Derrick Henry a good prospect not a great one have not changed. His size and top end speed were never in doubt. The facts that he tends to run high, needs to build up speed, and has average lateral agility and burst through the hole are still there. He will do very well if he lands in a place like Dallas with a dominant line, but he is not as great on the field as he is in shorts.
Forgive me because I haven't read the whole thread but my concern is that his size almost encourages contact. We all have seen the combine numbers thus far, but do we really want a lumbering back right now?
What makes me say that? Did u see this beast at the combine. He is literally a freakaziod. This kid outshines TJ Yeldon 2 years ago and TJ looked pretty good this year getting 1000 yards from both rushing and receiving. He won the Hiesman and ran over every top collage team in the country last year. He will be the best player out this draft as I said earlier this year.
Zeke ran an official 4.47 today in the 40. Its not 4.42 but its damned fast for a 6' 225lbs RB who also looked pretty fluid in the pass catching drills I saw.
I can't believe u think he is not as great on the field as he is in shorts. That's a ridiculous statement I have watched every game he has ever played in and he dominated in 80-85% of them. He is a huge talent and might be a top 10 pick
Are you 13? You sure act like it. He dominated at the collegiate level, where he had a great OL and was surrounded by a lot of talent. In the NFL he'll be up against players that are much bigger, much faster, and may have a poor OL.
