Anyone watch Mission Impossible episodes on TV back when? Peter Graves leafing through the photos of who he'll use, and who he'll discard (until next week's episode)? That is now Maccagnan, leafing through player's NFL cards deciding who he'll keep. (music: duhn duhn...dun na...)

No scouting report the 40 time he ran isn't that impressive- that time isn't any better than what most Dt runs .( that was my only point there - )

Your 4-3 defense makes little sense . as you aren't going to get the pressure you need from the De position. ( you going to get what you had for most of the year against good teams Qb with all the time in the World. If Bowles thought he had a decent 4-3 defense than explain why He would line Sheldon Richardson up at Olb.( square peg in round hole) It was retarded when they did it with Coples, and it's beyond stupidity to do it with Richardson.

The Jaguars aren't right next to the Jets( I know you know they don't play in the same division) , you don't limit what team you will do business with.( it's getting the maximum value for Wilkerson.( do you not understand this concept). Who cares about the Jaguars who been perennial cellar dwellers. The number 1 thing is improving the Jets.( only thing anyone should be concerned with)

What ever I want the Jets are going to do their own thing. I don't have a vote. They keep doing what they been , and ignore what you need , in the defense they want to play. Than expect more disappointment from a team that looks great on paper, but comes up short consistently when it matters.
No Creme puff schedule this year.

Let's see Monte Hall the Jaguars would give you the fifth pick in the draft for Wilkerson. Nah we can't let them ( our competition) , so we will take a late first / early second to make sure he goes to the NFC. Who says the Jaguars don't pick a stud at number 5. ( can't worry about what any team doing, but doing what best for your organization). Who says the Jets don't draft a franchise Qb at five.( change the balance of power going forward).

If I was the GM I would tag and trade Mo, sign Harrison. But honestly I would have to have a sit with Sheldon and make sure his priorities are in order, as he is a HUGE variable in this decision and definitely effects their long term plans of this team and is a huge part of this decision.

What would you do if you learned through the NFL office grapevine that Richardson was getting a long suspension for the drag race?

If I had the keys I would sign Mo and Snacks and trade Sheldon. Sheldon gets us a 1st ++ and we have the cat to fill his spot!

Mo is reliable, snacks is snacks and Sheldon is a mystery with huge upside. The Cat makes it an easy decision imo!

You wouldn't get a 1st round pick for Sheldon, much less a 1st ++. Sorry, but that's just delusional.

If Sheldon could get us that (which thanks to his off field issues, would not at this point in time anyways), I think he would have been traded already, and Mo plus Snacks would be resigned.

I would like to say sign Mo or let him play on the franchise tag for a year and revisit it next year but I think that will hinder us from signing our own FA. That would also greatly diminish Sheldons trade value. I think I would still tag and trade Mo to free up some cap space and get some draft picks. I would then sign a stopgap veteran to hold the fort and pray that Sheldon has his life in order.

    I think we could easily get a 1st + 2 conditional picks.

I think this is extremely optimistic. If Richardson didn't have any off of the field issues, then this would be realistic, but I don't see a team offering a 1st round pick for him at this time.

The Jaguars have a huge amount of cap space available and the 5 pick. Getting a player like Mo would be worth the pick to them because he's guaranteed to be good, unlike the rookie boom or bust route, and he's only 26.

They're trying to improve the pass rush and putting Mo next to Marks would probably do more to fix that than any other move they could make. I don't think anybody is going to bite on Mo for 2 1st's but we might get very lucky with the right team and get a top 5 pick.

    This is fun

Lets be honest no one knows how these guys will turn out

But I lean towards snacks, Sheldon (who I see as Sapp) and big cat.

Tag and trade Mo. I love him but this is a business not a love fest.

We will see what happens. If they trade Mo, get a douche like Milliner and Sheldon fucks up then we are SOJ.

Sheldon would get us a second round pick. I could see some teams giving up a first (cough Cowboys cough), but not many.

If it's a choice between Sheldon and Mo you keep Mo. Richardson is a dunce, and has displayed the type of judgment you see in players that don't just get fixed and become role models.

Wilk will never be JJ Watt, but the mere existence of a player like Watt at that position means the salary scale will automatically curve upward because they just don't have separate salary slots reserved for transcendent ultra elite players - he was going to set the market.

What Mo will be is a consistent top 5 DE/DT for his career and he will earn his money. Having 2 monsters in Mo and Lenny at the DE will make the transition to a new run stopper a lot easier.

What you don't do is grossly overpay for a 2 down run plugger that gets zero penetration and put your eggs in the basket of a DE that is one spliff away from a full year drug suspension.

Trading Mo as he enters his prime for picks that will likely not equal his value in the long run and watching him have a great career for another team would be a classic Jets move.

And I for one am sick of classic Jets moves.

What if it is a choice between:

    Mo $15.5 mil

    OR

    Snacks $7.25 mil
    Sheldon $6 mil
    Powell $2.25 mil

I'd go with Snacks, Sheldon and Powell every time, except $7.25 is way too much for Snacks. If nothing else, it's the safer pick odds-wise, because if Mo signs for that then goes down with a season-ending or perish the thought, career-ending injury, the team is screwed. The chances of all three of Snacks, Sheldon and Powell going down at the same time with season-ending injuries are slim and none.

You could switch the amounts for Snacks and Sheldon but my point is that you are choosing between Mo and three other guys, not just Mo vs Snacks.

Yes, and I wholeheartedly agree with that.
