Your right, I was thinking dead money, how will that 4.3 be used? What good RT is going to play for what the jets can afford to pay? They have some decisions to make with Mo, who knows how much they will be able to use for a quality RT.
Yes, because he's such a QB-reading cerebral ballhawk. Nevermind the fact that he would need to find a 4-3 Cover 2 defense that would simply refuse to use him in run coverage for him not to be the target of every running play the opposing team ran.
ROFLMAO if you're serious. He eschews contact, which is the exact opposite of what one wants in a FS. He's the last line of defense and has to be a willing and sure tackler. Cromartie is neither.
Ivory is gone. Great runner when he's healthy, which is 5-7 games per year. Peace. Breno is brain dead. Get lost. Snacks is the best 2 down run stuffer in the league and some team will pay him better than the Pats ever paid Wilfork, who was the best 3 down nose tackle in the league for the majority of his career. See ya. Cumberland is good at breathing. Fuck off.
Wrong on Giacomini. Giacomini's cap hit for 2016 is $5.625 million. If they cut him, they'll save $4.375 million. The dead money doesn't matter, unless there is no cap savings. When there is cap savings, that's what matters. So with cutting Brick, the Jets would save $9,093,000 on the cap. The problem is finding a LT to replace him.
OMG YOU MERGEDED MY THREAD THIS IS CENSORSHIP THIS IS WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY VOTE TRUMP VOTE TRUMP
Several weeks ago, I would have definitely agreed with you that Giacomini wouldn't get cut, but now I'm not so sure. I think they could possibly find a veteran FA RT who would be cheaper and better than Giacomini.
Please stop posting wrong figures. Cutting Cumberland would save $1.9 million. Cutting Kerley would save $1.3 million, not $1.8.
Is it possible or even worth it for him to restructure? I'm no where near as knowledgeable as you and some of the other posters when it comes to crunching numbers and how it affects the cap.
Of course he would, but let's hope the jets aren't stupid enough to bring him back, even for the minimum. The guy stunk last year and he can't tackle a junior varsity player. Go back and watch Crabtree's TD against the jets last year and you will see cromartie make the most half- hearted attempt at a tackle possible. I can't believe anyone would want Cromartie OR CALVIN PACE back, even on the cheap. Check the expiration date, people--all players have a shelf life.
I'm sure it's possible, but why would they want to? He's awful in both pass protection and run blocking. Why would they want dead money on the cap for him next year or the year after? They should just cut bait with him and take the cap savings if they think they can replace him. They'd be hard pressed to find someone worse.
https://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2016/02/antonio_cromartie_expected_to_be_willing_to_return.html Eh, still think we should move on completely. Don't forget fellas, won't we also be getting back a healthy Antonio Allen? Granted he is a FS, but we'll have another piece back in the secondary.
