Falco I know you crave to make threads, and break news, but you're about 15 minutes too late on this one.
His regression from his time in Arizona to what he was here was surprising. Didnt think he'd fall off so fast but he's done. He might keep playing cause he has to, but I think he's not even an average CB anymore.
No way. Even though he's underperformed our O-Line can't afford to lose him without a replacement in the wings. A restructure is best-case scenario.
Cro's deal was brilliant. There's no dead money or 2016 cap hit. He gave a lucrative deal to get an above average starter here for 1 year when we were deprived of talent and HAD to spend money, yet structured it so there was no penalty for getting out of it when we were pressed for cap space. The quickest way to go from cap paradise to cap hell is to give out tons of deals with long term guarantees. Mac avoided that.
Definitely a move that had to be done. Gonna be interesting to see what else Mac does this offseason.
I would agree with you if Cro wasn't awful most of the season. What is the point of a "brilliant" deal if the player stinks? Too many people hanging their hats on Cro being moderately decent a few games late. All in all he sucked.
This 3 ball man once sat down at a random bar and said "I bet anyone in here $1,000 that together me and this bartender have 5 balls." The bartender quickly pulled out $1,000, much to the 3 ball man's surprise! he said "looks like you better have 4 balls"
He was horrendous for about 6 weeks but after that I hardly heard his name. It was a good deal because we brought in a guy who was an established starter at a position where we had guys rotating off the streets playing last year, yet now that the position is stabilized we can move on without any consequence.
Exactly. That's basically what Mac did with all the FA contracts he handed out last year. For players he thought there might be a possibility or risk they wouldn't work out, the contracts were structured so the Jets could cut them after the 2015 season without any cap hit. Only for the players that he thought would almost certainly be here at least 2 years did he structure them in a way where there would be any kind of cap hit. The idea that Mac handed out a bunch of bad contracts last season is absolute BS.
