Late night models already flip flopping,,,,,,my guess is they will change solutions and not agree going into Monday ,,,,,,we will see as it gets closer,,,,,,,.hopefully we get buried lol

It's supposed to hit zero mid-evening here with a wind chill in the -20's. Will get down to -7 in the middle of the night with a windchill of -29. No precipitation forecast at this point and winds will be moderate at 16MPH after the temperature really starts to dip. Winds in the mid-20's now.
Yes going o get colder by the hour,,,,get whatever you need get done soon as it is going o be brutal out. Models still all over the place but FJF u might be at the cutoff point with this one,,,,,we shall see.
I just cancelled my evening plans. Don't want to park the car out in the weather for 4 hours and then find the battery dead when I get back to it. That would suck.
its 2 with a feels like of -18 or in laymans terms, fuggin cold bro. i don't think this cold retreats fast enough for the incoming storm. i think some are going to get 2-4" of snow before the rain washes it out. tuesday morning commute should be interesting. models can't get on the same page though so its anyones guess
fwiw 00z nam has snow starting around 2 monday and not changing over till noon tuesday. would put a good amount down before it gets washed away. also a 12 hr difference in precip start time between the nam and gfs. models all over the place
This is great news FJF except now the latest models say warmer and rain rain rain,,,,,,this winter really blows ! Still time for a storm or 3 but Its almost over for me. It was hot as balls on Xmas eve, then these storms all missed us and if they did hit it was East on LI or elsewhere , now its cold as balls out and in 2 days it will probably be 60 degrees ! I am almost ready to throw in the towel,,,I hope the models are wrong and we get buried but this appears to be a waste of some serious very ridiculously cold air ! Stay warm all and be safe ! Ps here's something I saw online tonight so we just went out and tried it,,,boil a pot ( we did 3 ) of water go outside and toss it away from you and into the air----------> you might as well make your own snow,,,it works ,kinda sorta lol
You hope we get buried? I used to think that way, when I lived for the slopes. Not so much anymore. I thought only skiers, school kids, and plow operators hoped for snow.
well, the 06z nam falls in line with the gfs, snow early tuesday a.m. changing over at sunrise.then some pretty heavy rains all day tuesday. temps extremely warm.flooding issues on tuesday as the ground is frozen hard and the water will flow on top instead of soaking in. i think thats a wrap on this threat. next threat is the following monday/tuesday. not holding out hope though. jay picked a good winter to go awol.
Well the sun is shining at 9:17am and it is -5 outside with a windchill of -27. Looks like it'll only get better from here with a high of 12 in mid afternoon and then only going down to zero tonight. The polar vortex sucks. Need to keep that cold air up at the pole where it belongs. The long-term forecast say we'll be up to 52 and 100% chance of rain on Tuesday. What a weird winter we're having.

I have to admit that this year I am not loving " FJF s house of weather and crazy flip flopping computer model runs and lack of snow " . So yes either bury us real soon or let's put down some fertilizer , plant some stuff and open up the pools !
i got -8 on my dashboard thermometer. if reaches 52 on tuesday thats a 60f swing in 48hrs. that might be a record.
same way. oldest girl is eyeing a big season on the bmx track, so if no snow might as well be warm enough to get the tracks opening. gonna miss the extra money the snow brings though.
When cold fronts move like that something is really wrong. If we don't get a handle on the things that are causing warming we're going to hit a tipping point in here somewhere and get the great mother of all black swans.
