Well, didn't the CIA train the future founders of the Taliban and Al Qaeda while Reagan was in the White House? They were called "rebels" back then, kinda like the "rebels" we have in Syria now too. You can deny and spin it all you want but pretty much every US involvement in the Muslim world eventually results in yet another clusterfuck.
That was a question to Petro in the context of the discussion you idiot. Stop acting like the wise guy.
Yeah. Is it the background or the dress? WTF? She looks like somebody in a 50's sci-fi movie. Not good
It was to me that you directed the suggestion to start a new thread. You lose points when you can't follow your own line of comments and resort to childish name calling.
idiot is not name calling. Rale turd on the other is a name that fits you perfectly. So stop playing the wise guy. Now, I asked Petro why do Muslims hate America. He answered. You chimed in. I said let's not derail the thread and told you if you have a question start a thread. Then you said it is your question you start the thread. Then I told you the discussion was between me and petro. So this is the line of thinking you idiot.
If Bernie isn't careful, he's gonna be the Dems version of Robo Rubio. Always reverts to his near vendetta against Wall St. At this point, I would not feel comfortable with Bernie and the launch codes. He wouldn't use them, but God Forbid he's ever forced into that situation, I don't know what he'd do. Hillary is not Maggie Thatcher, but I'd be more comfortable with her in the big chair given her experience and penchant to bring a gun to a knife fight.
I can understand why people like Bernie Sanders. I mean we all like free stuff, right? His ideas, however, go totally against everything this country has stood for since its inception. His utopian idea of Medicare for all surely sounds nice and all but I for one do not understand why people who work hard and pay taxes have to have the same health coverage as the leeches who live off government support. I agree that everyone should have some kinda health coverage but making it equal for everyone goes against all our principles. Not to mention, that this idea is as unrealistic as it gets. Private insurance companies, lobbyists and doctors, who get more money for treating patients with a private coverage, will never let that happen. I didn't watch the entire debate last night but I did catch the part where both of them were pandering to the black vote. All that stuff about white cops killing blacks, reforming the police, etc. was as hypocritical as it gets. There's no doubt that there are racist scumbag cops but that's not the main problem. There are way more blacks being killed every day in the ghetto than by white racist cops. Those candidates will never talk about it though, as that won't get them more votes and a meeting with Al Sharpton in Harlem.
The problem Petro, is that pandering is the accepted path to success. Everybody does it now and you'd be hard pressed to find ONE POTUS candidate that doesn't pander to one group or another. This is a fractured country and every tribe wants its share. I highly doubt the framers had this in mind almost 3 centuries ago.
To get votes you have to pander. Same pandering happened back then when the country was being formed...It's never going to change.
Exactly my thinking. I grew up poor. Didn't even have a proper shoe to go to school with. So growing up, I idealized socialism and still believe in some socialist doctrines but unfortunately Sanders sound like a college activist instead of a veteran politician. As a presidential candidate, he would lay out a proper plan about how he intends to achieve stuff. You can't just bash Wall Street on every question. But he is still more likable than Hillary for me. About Hillary. She comes off as too phony, unreal but still sounds more mature than Bernie. I think she will be the Democratic nominee. What is your view deathstar? How was last night's debate for you?
I would go with Hillary as like you said she is more mature (completely unrealistic to have Medicare from birth to death). What's the point of working and trying to become apart of the 1% when 45/50% or so of your income above $500,000 will be heading out of the door and be used to help fund programs for millions of Americans who I feel are ungrateful about the government programs they currently receive (medicare/SS/rent help/food stamps/etc)...Plus how the hell will Bernie accomplish anything with a GOP Congress (if it stays the same as now)? At least Hillary by being moderate (compared to Sanders) can get something done with a GOP Congress. Plus, I don't trust Sanders on foreign policy...Least Hillary has experience in that area. Wish there were more Dems running though, but out of these two, Hillary will do. My main voting concern last 2 elections was the candidate least likely to go to war with Iran...Based on the current crop of GOPers, Hillary and Trump are the only 2 to fit that (Sanders I don't see winning the nomination anyway).
