Buffalo Bills- DE Emmanuel Ogbah OKLAHOMA STATE With the 20th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft the New York Jets select: 20: Leonard Floyd OLB GEORGIA A force from the edge is something we have been missing. Floyd a month ago was almost a sure fire top 15-20 pick. With the senior bowl and combine we have seen some players rise. I would like Spence to be here but I feel that he is top 15 after the combine. Floyd is a bit undersized and may not have the best production sack wise. However, he is constantly putting on pressure and is a great athlete. Floyd has a high motor and is great in pursuit. He has a deep repertoire of pass rushing moves and has the ability to cover man-to-man as well as zone. Floyd is what this team needs at OLB. Hopefully he can bulk up his frame. 2nd: Tyler Matakevich ILB TEMPLE 3rd: Paul Perkins RB UCLA 4: Kyle Murphy OT STANFORD 5. Morgan Burns CB/KR KANSAS STATE 7. Drew Kaser P TEXAS A&M
Love the first 2 picks and Burns. Haven't checked out much on Perkins. Jordan Howard/Devontae Booker/CJ Prosise also look good around that slot. But there's no way Dallas takes Wentz over Ramsey
Leading up to the Jets picks, I think it makes pretty good sense except for Philly and Detroit. Philly just gave Lane Johnson a monster LT contract and doesn't have a QB or secondary. Mackenzie Alexander and Paxton Lynch are still there. If they don't believe in Lynch, then I'd think Mackenzie has to be their choice over a OT. The Lions still have Riley Reiff at LT and he gets a bad rap. They have no impact players on offense with Megatron retiring. They have Gabe Wright and Caraun Reed at DT. I think either Zeke or A'Shawn would have to be the pick in that scenario. Maybe Rankins depending on what they want to do there. JMO. I recommend people who are interested in Tyler Matakevich to watch the Temple/Penn State game if possible. I love Perkins. Versatile guy with nice skills. JMO.
I don't want the focus to be too much on the picks 1-19. I didn't put a lot of time into it. I just wanted to show that Spence, Ragland and Zeke were gone. The Lions and Eagles may not look at OT. I really don't know. I don't know a lot of teams needs. The focus I was intending for was on the Jets selections.
If Floyd falls to us it would be a steal. Also highly doubt Perkins would fall to the end of the 3rd. I think we have a legit shot at him in the 2nd. All needs addressed here so cant complain if this is how our draft ended up.
I'm really hoping Floyd falls. If he doesn't then I think we look OL. Darron Lee could be an option. Just see him more of a 4-3 OLB. He is play maker though. I really want Spence but that ship seems to have sailed. Jordan Jenkins in round 2 or later could be an option. I like what he does. In regards to Perkins I can see him being gone. I didn't realize he is about a 2nd currently. I think Procise and Collins could be the 4-5 RBs off the board. Perkins could go after. Ferguson and Howard could be more realistic in the 3rd.
