Brady threw for 145 yards against the #21 ranked pass defense in the NFL that year in his first Superbowl. But he deserves allllllllll the credit in the world. How quickly people forget about Brady's own #1 defenses.
Manning has always been a better QB than Brady until the last 2 years when he was washed up. This year was the perfect example of why using superbowls or head to head matchups to rank QB's is stupid. It's a team game. Brady's first three championships were won with great defense and the most clutch kicker of all time. Dan Marino, who I also hate, was also a better QB than Brady by a lot actually. He never won a ring.

There is no doubt that Brady benefited from some really great defenses. But based on their Superbowl performances Brady is head and shoulders above Manning. Brady lead his team to go ahead scores with less than 2 minutes left in 5 of his 6 SB appearances (which includes the 2 losses to the Giants). In Manning's best SB he had a decent game against the Bears but wasn't lights out by any means(25/38, 247 yds, 1 td 1 int). He threw a pick 6 against the Saints to lose that SB, the Seahawks killed them in the next one, and Manning was an afterthought passenger on the Bronco's "D" train last week.
