Oh he's lurking. Kind of fun to troll him in abstentia-crying those big fat vagina tears because they aren't getting any calls blahblahblah. _

Nope. No connection. A fanboi. Protects that institution like hes a 5 generation legatee. It's creepy. _
They really hammered UNC this week in the polls. I was surprised. What exactly has Gonzaga done to garner 53 votes?
Good God those are the worst. I at least go to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and will be graduating soon, and I also have roots in the state. The guys who root for say UNC and are from say NYC and didnt even go to the school are the worst.

You're right that Iowa's #5 ranking is probably a little high but their losses were to some good teams (Dayton, Maryland, Iowa St.) while beating Purdue 2x and Wichita State. Does this count? Summa Corn Laude!
It's so strange with a college team. Why people choose professional teams have it's own dynamic. But for colleges it's usually some combination of going there or your family going there or you live near the school. If you saw them as a kid and became a fan sure--but you're not defending them tooth and nail like that jerkoff used to do with UNC. If you're just a casual fan having seen them on TV as a kid you don't bleed the schools colors if you actually went there. He used to talk about Dean Smith and Roy Williams like they were his Grandfather and Uncle. Creepy shit. _
UNC fans in general are creepy like that. Its weird as shit. Penn State fans are like that and we saw how dangerous that shit can be. When you treat the heads of your sports program as the moral leaders of the university to the point where you will go to great lengths to protect that BS reputation it crosses beyond just a sports fan's misguided priorities and into dangerous disillusion. Penn State's situation was obviously worse but throwing the football program under the bus? throwing the women's basketball program under the bus? Trashing the very bedrock of the university by ruining professional lives of the academic personnel that worked for decades on the betterment of the education of the school... just to protect the individuals associated with the basketball team? huh? No respectable alumni of any school I know would be that stupid. They would have perspective that the university comes first not some creepy father figure attachment to the basketball coach or even the desire to have a quality basketball team. It's just these freaky fan bois that don't care about anything but the basketball team... and UNC has a lot of them. You don't need to be an alum to be a fan of a program but at the same time the stuff I describe doesn't come from alumni it comes from fan bois. There's a difference
Yeah- Notre Dame fans can be like that too. I was pretty unhappy with what my institution did but we took our lumps and we moved past it. UNC fans--like Pats fans--still delude themselves into thinking they didn't cheat. And they did, on a MASSIVE scale. _
I already get shit in the mail from UNL asking for me to donate money to their alumni fund. As if they didnt get enough money from me paying $6,000 a year for tuition and now they want even more and I'm not even an alumni yet. Id maybe donate money to the College of Agriculture since thats the college I belonged to, but I'm not writing out a yearly check out to Harvey Perlman.
Its different when you live out here where the nearest professional teams are a minimum of 4 hours away. The Huskers are the only thing we have here.
Oregon is making a decent run this year. It's amazing because the local fans are almost treating the team like an aberration. Guess they only cade about football. But Altman Slsure is a hell of a coach. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
You're paying 6k for tuition? I thought Bernie only won the NH primary last night, not the White House. 6k?....awesome - good for you. Top 25: UNC nearly lost again, this time to BC 68-65. .
