What about signing Brandon Marshall to replace Demario Davis? Could very likely end up being the odd man out in Denver.

Brandon Marshall is a restricted Fa. so unless Jets want to lose a draft pick(what amount they tag him at). He most likely going to stay a Bronco.

Alfred Morris and Doug Martin could also be options

Martin is going to cost a lot..Im thinking he ends up in NE.

    And that would be bad.

I don't think either is a realistic option. Morris is too old with too many carries, and Martin will be too expensive.

He is too old. The Jets need young, fresh, speedy legs, not older legs that have a lot of mileage and hits on them.

There has got to be better options out there. My guess they give Breno one more shot and draft someone to compete with Winters.

So is there any realistic chance we can land Danny Trevathan? He recovered the Tolbert fumble which killed a big Panthers drive as well as the TJ Ward post-int fumble that prevented a huge potentially game changing error.

Hes a solid tackler, who constantly around the ball- the anti Demario Davis- I'd love to go after him if we have any shot at all.

I think he said he would likely go back to Fox and the Bears since Fox gave him his shot. But then again, money talks

I heard Danny Trevathan was very close to his former Defensive coordinator with the Bronco's- Jack Delrio. I don't know if the Raiders have an interest in him, but that what I heard.

Martin is going to re-sign with RB.

Morris not sure I'm sold on.

I say go get Sproles, draft a RB and increase Powell's role.

Getting Sproles would make sense cause he can return punts.

I hope Martin returns to TB. Pats have already been linked to Forte so its clear they will be going for a RB upgrade.

I have zero interest in Morris.

Those are their ILBs, not OLBs. Welcome, by they way.

Either Marshall, whom is unlikely or Trevathan would do wonders for this defense especially because you can trust them on the field on third down. As excellent as David Harris is in stopping the run and blitzing he is an absolute black hole in pass coverage and prevents us from playing man coverage + blitzing any defensive backs (in particular Skrine who is great at it.

It'll be interesting to see what Denver does. One would think they tender Marshall high, although a second round tender guarantees the player $2+ million and a first round tender guarantees them $3+ million. CJ Anderson is also a RFA and he is a perfect fit for Kubiak's one cut running game.

They also have to think about resigning Von Miller, Osweiler, Malik Jackson, Ronnie Hillman, McManus, LT Ryan Harris, and most of their special teamers with only about $14 million in cap space to work with I believe. Miller is good for more than that by himself. If Marshall receivers a third rounder or original round tender the Jets should jump on it and never look back at that draft pick.

IMO there is no way they will just "think" about re-signing Von Miller, he will be re-signed. They'd be insane not to.

Following is a list of Denver's FAs. They have 25 FAs, 2 more than the Jets, but have 9 starters (1o if you count Osweiler), among that whereas the Jets have 8 (Mo, Fitz, Harrison, Pace, Ivory, Davis, Colon and Quigley, although most of us don't want Colon, Quigley or Pace back, and most think Ivory will ask for more than he's worth).

According to overthecap.com They look to be about $10.5 million under the cap (the cap is projected to be $153 million and they're at $143.5 million now), but can quickly shave $19 million off their cap if they cut Peyton Manning if he doesn't retire or if he retires. Another way they can gain a significant amount of cap space is to release Ryan Clady. They would save $8.9 million if they cut him. Prior to 2013 that would have been unthinkable, but he missed 14 of 16 games in 2013 due to a Lisfranc injury, then struggled in 2014, partially due to struggling to recover from the Lisfranc injury. He missed the entire 2015 season with a torn ACL. He signed a new contract prior to the 2013 season for $52.5 million with $33 million guaranteed the first 3 seasons, but he then missed almost two entire seasons of those three. They may seek to get Clady to take a pay cut or restructure him since he's only 27, but if they were satisfied with the play of Ryan Harris, they might opt to cut Clady so they can keep as many of their starters as they can. Another less likely option is that they could seek to draft a new LT or sign a FA.

Some posters have posited that the Broncos may cut Demarcus Ware, who is due $11,666,668 next season and they could save $10 million if they cut him. If Manning retires and they cut Clady and Ware, they'd save almost $38 million against the cap. They could possibly re-sign every one of their starters below for that money alone.

[ have bolded the ones I think they may/probably try to keep. *denotes starter]
    Von Miller, OLB*
    Vernon Davis, TE
    Evan Mathis, LG*
    Antonio Smith, 34DE
    David Bruton, S
    Andre Caldwell, WR
    Todd Davis, ILB
    Ryan Harris, LT*
    Brock Osweiler, QB*

    Tyler Polumbus, RT
    Ronnie Hillman, RB*
    Kyle Williams, WR
    Shiloh Keo, S
    Jordan Norwood, WR
    Josh Bush, S
    Omar Bolden, CB
    Brandon Marshall, ILB RFA*
    Malik Jackson, 34DE*
    Danny Trevathan, ILB*

    Sam Brenner, C ERFA
    Lerentee McCray, OLB
    C.J. Anderson, RB RFA
    Brandon McManus, K ERFA*

    Bennie Fowler, WR ERFA
    Matt Paradis, C ERFA*

I doubt the Jets will have cap space to sign any of the top players the Broncos don't re-sign. I don't know how good Tyler Polumbus might be, but he backed up both LT and RT for the Broncos this season and might be an option to upgrade the Jets' depth at OT. Also, if the Broncos don't cut Clady, perhaps Ryan Harris might shake loose. He obviously played pretty well in Clady's place this season. Could Jordan Norwood become available? Andre Caldwell was ahead of him on the depth chart, but they may opt to keep Norwood and let Caldwell walk. If Norwood is available, the Jets could possibly sign him. He would be a great addition as a 3rd WR, PR and KOR. If Trevathan is available, as several posters here have speculated, he would be a great addition, but I'd be surprised if the Jets could afford him. Antonio Smith and Todd Davis could possibly be available, and they may be better than the Jets' current depth at those positions.
