He's the head coach. He has some say.

Also, he isn't worth Wilk, or a 1st round pick to our team.
I just remember him being a running QB for one season and had a good year.
Capernick isn't a QB that could fall into the category of pocket passer. He doesn't have the skills to be reading defenses, throwing on time, accurately, etc....
His type of QBing, doesn't work, hardly ever, for very long.
If we trade Wilk, I want something good.

Fitzpatrick will be with the Jets for a long time.

Next season to say the least as a starter, then backup afterwards. [Looks like you didn't grasp that idea.]

Trading Mo for Kaep would be a brilliant move. We'd come out SO far ahead cap wise:

Pick up Kaep ($16M adder to our cap)

    Trade Mo - save $12-$14M
    Cut Fitzpatrick - save $8-$9M

    Keep Marshall but cut:

    Cut Decker - save $8M
    Cut Enunwa - save $1M
    Cut Tompkins - save $1.5M
Cut Devin Smith - save $1M
When Amaro comes back, cut him too - save another $1.5M

Summnary: We'd add $16M for Kaep but we'd save $35.5M but cutting WRs that Kaep can never get to in his 'progression', a savings of over $18M.

    ;)

Um.... I guess you didn't notice that I had quoted you three times and by some people I was referring to you.

Point is you didn't like Fitz before and now you do. If the coach and GM in their infinite wisdom pick up another QB I'm sure it'll be the right decision whether you agree with it at first or not.

It we have the need to take on a reclamation project at QB, at least let it be RGIII; otherwise just hold tight.

Kapernick would be very intresting especially if he could still put up the rushing numbers he once did....Id be very intrested ,trade Geno and a 5th rounder and let him Fitz and Petty compete for the job.Fitz isn't gonna win us a Superbowl he can't even get us to the playoffs and proved that week 17.Kap was injured most of last season and wasn't the same without Hardbaugh

If we trade Mo for Cap we should be asking for a 1st and third back for our second an Mo that is the only way I would consider that trade. MO is so much better the Cap atm it would be a joke to consider that trade now Geno and a 4th I would do all day if a 3rd goes with Geno we should get a 5th back

Mangold was on some FOX Sports live-stream thing on Facebook and was asked about Kaepernick and he goes "Not sure why a guy currently under contract is talking about joining another team" and left it at that.

    trade mo for kaepernik?

unless there are 2 first round picks i missed then no chance i make that deal.

i dont make a trade for kaepernick... period. his contract is horrible. id rather just wait for them to cut him, and then sign him to small money. otherwise he isnt good enough to waste an asset on or the cap space on

i woudlnt mind giving up a late pick... but i dont think it can work trading for him. the money just doesnt work. he is owed to much. even if we restructured it. as is we are going to be hell bent to fill out the roster and get guys under contract.

force the 49ers to cut him, then ink him to small money

Heard great interview of Brandon Marshall on the Michael Kay show on Friday. Kay asked him about the rumors about Kaep wanting to come to the Jets and if so, would Marshall want him.

Marshall said "no" but it had nothing to do with Kaep.

He said it's because of Fitz. Said he's the man, he's the guy, everyone in the building loves the guy, would run through a wall for him. Said he's the quarterback of the NY Jets, no question about it.

We gotta sign that guy soon.
