I love the signing. The Jets have been in need of a legit return guy for years and this could very well be the guy. Averaged 22 yards per return. Looking forward to seeing what he can do on Sundays.
He was also ranked 3rd in the NFL on KORs at the time of his release by the Steelers, averaging 25.3 yards per return. This is a great signing imo. I remember him when he was in the draft, and hoped the Jets could get him then. He could be a weapon on STs and possibly even on offense. If the kid can play at all at the NFL level, with Gailey's creativity and offense and Fitz' quick release, any short throw could be taken to the house.

His long for 2014 was 23 yards... To the guy that says Jeremy Kerley sucks, he has punt returns in his career of 68, 63, 41 and a 58 yarder this past season. He's rightfully insulted to say the least.
Absolutely worth a flier on a minium deal. Every offseason a lot of guys get signed to futures deals and you rarely hear much about them, but Archer brings more promise than a typical signing
So? He had a 53 yard long and a 68 yard long for a touchdown in his first two years in only 48 attempts good for a 10.9 yards/return. Archer has only been given 23 attempts for a reason either via lack of showing talent or injury. Like I said he's worth it as a camp body. I don't expect a 175 pound player to stick though. Look at Woodhead and Sproles the little guys who actually stuck. They're built like brickhouse bowling balls though. Archer looks very fragile.
Was hoping we'd take a look at this kid the year he was drafted. Was hoping we took a look when he was released, what did we have to lose with the way our specials played. One of the knocks is that he didn't like contact and would try to avoid it. Understandable considering his size, but you are playing pro football and contact is going to be hard to avoid if you want to stay in the league.
