enunwa was our TE.. he made a difference. imagine if graham was out there in the midst of Marshall and decker.. who exactly is stopping that?
I don't see any situation in which it really makes sense for the Jets to sign Jimmy Graham. One down year where he was a bad scheme fit then got injured doesn't necessarily tank his value to nothing. Excluding Gronk he was arguably the most lethal TE in the league before joining the Seahawks and with multiple more important positions (OL, Linebackers) needing an immediate upgrade I cant see why the Jets would or even should dedicate that amount of resources toward Graham. He stands way too high a risk of becoming a Revis style signing; a good player who despite all his talent isn't worth the money and ends up being a major reason why we're in the situation were in. Next year we'll roll out Enunwa, a healed Amaro, and maybe a draft pick or cheap signing and see what we got.
The Jets can't afford to sign Harrison and Wilkerson, but the Jets will find the money to sign Jimmy Graham? What cuts ( holes are they going to create) to open up the room to sign him. I don't see it.
If we were to ignore our over-rated defense and went all in on offense the outcome could be interesting.
Since our HC was a defensive player, coach and coordinator, do you really think that's going to happen?
it's unlikely but not as far fetched is it may seem. with the kind of injury he took and the season he had he could be a cap casualty and may very well have to settle for a one year prove it deal.. it could be a low risk high reward signing if it were to ever happen.. I wouldn't get excited though really unless Seattle does in fact release him.
Am I the only one that really wants Travis Benjamin? Immediately becomes our best vertical threat and return man
I'd take him but I don't think our Front Office will sign him..... It would pretty much mean they are writing Devin Smith off after 1 year..... They aren't going to do that.
I dont think its implausible provided its a shorter term deal- Devin Smith will be pretty limited next year with his ACL and Benjamin could help us transition smoothly from one player to the next assuming Smith pans out.
So let's get rid of some more players just entering their prime, for once great player on the back end of his career. ( haven't we learned anything from Revis signing). I guess not.
That is the guy you want to spend the money on. BAP available at an under-appreciated position and a huge area of need for us.
I don't think I'm crazy about any free agents in this class. Lamar Miller is interesting because those he's 25 and his prime years are ahead of him. He was extremely underutilized in Miami so he still will be pretty fresh with not that much tear and they have Jay Ajayi so they might be willing to let him go. But at the end of the day if he wants more than 4-5 a mil a year I'm good. The draft this year is pretty good I like Jonathan Williams(Arkansas) and Jordan Howard(Indiana) this year in this mid rounds. As far as other positions resign Fitz and Snacks, franchise Mo trade him get a 1st either this year or mostly next year.
Forget about Jimmy Graham. Dude's got a torn patella! Ask Victor Cruz how his rehab is going. Even at a 50% cut to his salary, he'd still cost $5 mill. No
For better or worse, I agree. With this team's limited cap space and age at many positions, going with Winters wouldn't be the worst thing ever given his experience. Maybe Dakota Dozier or Jarvis Harrison could step up too... However I'd like to add a veteran for around the minimum to compete too
He'd be worth the vet minimum on a non-guaranteed contract. No risk there, but he brings tremendous talent and past production and familiarity with Bowles
