I think Winters has earned the chance to start next season as our G, not a huge fan by any means but he made some strides this season.
We need to decide what we are gonna do at the RB position.Id like to bring back Powell and Ivory but we may not be able to match the kind of offer Ivory ends up getting from a team with a lot of cap room.Powell was a major player in the 5 game win streak catching passes and his threat as a runner.....we need him back in that role
If we trade Mo or Sheldon it better be for draft picks. We need a youth movement to supplant our veterans in the future. And we better get ATLEAST a first rounder for Sheldon the former Defensive rookie of the year, and we could possibly get even more for Mo, but in my eyes you have to trade one of the two, can't let that type of talent walk out the door with no compensation.
If we are going to pay a rb much rather go after lamar miller. Ivory is good but with his running style he won't stay healthy
A backfield of Miller/Powell/draft pick is my desire. I love Ivory, but the reality is that his style of running is never going to be a recipe for maintaining his health for 16 games. Watching him on the sidelines sucking up a significant amount of cap space is something that I want another fan base to have to deal with...
Lamar Miller is going to be in high demand, what are the Jets chances honestly with limited cap space, versus teams with a lot of cap space. Might have to find that Rb in the draft.
I agree and it should be Sheldon. He presents too much risk and we're coming from a position of strength. Lock up Mo, we have Leonard, and keep Snacks....Flip Sheldon for picks. Could be tough because he's likely facing another suspension next year.
I don't see a scenario where the Jets sign Miller AND Powell. If we sign Miller, he's our 3 down back and we should draft 1 or 2 more RBs to play behind him.
What does trading S Richardson do for the Jets cap( nothing-). Either Muhammad Wilkerson or Snacks are gone.( the Jets can't afford both players)
Not sure if it's been mentioned in here yet but Daryl Washington who's been suspended the last two seasons is likely to be cut. He's worked with Bowles before and has shown the upside to be one of the best inside linebackers in the league. Getting him fully healthy at a discount could be our move of the offseason.
Between retaining Fitz, Mo, and possibly Snacks I see us keeping Powell and letting Ivory go. If we pursue Lamar Miller I doubt we re-sign Powell or Ivory. As far as I'm concerned I've had enough of seeing Ivory play one snap and spend the rest of a game on the bicycle. Lamar/Draft pick or Powell/Draft pick Since we're looking to keep Henderson, Davis is likely gone and it will be Harris/Henderson/Taiwan Jones/and a draft pick Maybe we cut Giacomini and go after a free agent RT or we find a RT in the draft that can switch over to LT once Brick is gone. The latter would be preferable Wish we could go after TE Dwayne Allen but we may just stick with what we got and add someone cheap in FA or in the draft
id rather go with table scraps at RB. its one of the few positions you can plug someone in and still get some production. id much rather fix oline and try and retain more important players.
Getting him for free for a try out may be a possibility. If Bowles actually sees something in him you may be on to something When you look at his history you see that Sheldon Richardson is at crossroads in his life.
Saw a story on Yahoo today about likely landing spots for Jimmy Graham if the Sea Hawks cut him. Jets were # 1 most likely destination (Falcons were second). TE is certainly and area of need. Thoughts?
It's unlikely the Seahawks cut him, but that's someone that add another layer to our dominant red zone success. With amaro and graham, we'd have a top 5 offense.
Scott Chandler's name has been linked to us because of his history with Gailey. Wouldn't be a bad signing with the uncertainty around Amaro. Im sure if we had a halfway decent TE , Gailey would find a way to get him involved. One more big body in the red zone couldnt hurt.
