his lawyer says he doesn't expect Richardson to face more discipline under the league's personal conduct policy. not sure if that is just his lawyer being optimistic, or if he has specific reason to feel that way.
That would be sick to see him not miss anytime. Dareus got suspended 1 game last year for speeding I think, but we shall see. Fingers crossed. BTW - Mods, we have 2 open threads on this - I don't care you can merge this one onto the other one, doesn't matter who created the news first [topics were made prob less then a min apart].
It's pretty stupid to get a suspension for speeding. If the child endangerment or DUI charges stuck then that would be another story. Whats next the NFL will suspend players for getting parking tickets?
The NFL punishment is not based on a criminal convictions, just ask Ray Rice and Greg Hardy. If the Ginger Hammer wants to suspend Shelly for child endangerment he will. Along with the pot, firearm, speeding, resisting arrest, etc. I don't know how Shelly will get out of this without another suspension.
He's getting suspended just a question of how long. I stand by my get rid of him while we can position.
Well they suspend them for marajuana use so parking tickets can't be far off.Soon they will be testing there sugar levels and handing out lifetime bans
What wouldn't be stupid would be him getting suspended for driving 153mph in a car with a kid in the backseat, racing, running from the cops, weed in the car, and pulling a gun on a cop. Honestly, he deserves a lengthy suspension.
I'm thinking/hoping 4 games too. It could be a lot worse. He's definitely in violation of the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy. He failed to tell the Jets about the speeding incident and arrest until they found out about it just like the rest of us on the day it was announced in Missouri. That is a violation of the policy. Hopefully the NFL will treat it like a first violation of the Personal Conduct Policy and not also a second violation of the Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. If it's a second violation of the Policy and Program for Substance Abuse in Stage 2 then the suspension is for 6 games and includes advancement to Stage 3 with a year off the next time. If the NFL decides that Richardson delayed reporting the arrest so that he would not test positive for Marijuana then they could theoretically suspend him under both policies, giving him 6 games under the drug policy and an additional 4 games for the personal conduct policy and keeping him out until game 11 next year. Given the nature of the recent challenges to the league's authority to discipline players I wouldn't expect them to be rougher than that. The fact that Richardson played from week 6 on last season doesn't mean anything to us right now. Quincy Enunwa was going along just fine and then BOOM, gone for 4 games in the middle of last year based on an incident that had occurred in the summer of 2014. Richardson could easily lose most of next season as a result of the arrest and his reaction to it, combined with his already active position in the drug policy and first suspension, even though he hadn't served it yet. It's millions and millions of dollars Sheldon. Figure it out because we'll be sad if you're done early but you will be devastated.
If this were getting more press it would probably be a full year suspension, knocked down to 8 games after appeal. I'm thinking it'll be 8 games knocked down to 4.
Lawyers don't say things because they're optimistic. They say things in order to influence decisions.
The cop finally got him, Sheldon reached under his seat, and was stopped. A gun was under his seat. These are facts not in dispute.
Lol if a black man in St Louis pulled a gun on a cop we wouldn't be worrying about a 4 game suspension, we'd already have had a memorial service. _
