Lol they come in hot. Sounds like a shotgun would've done the trick tonite. Might be out tomorrow. Depends on if the wind lays down. What call do you have?
These things happen more than most will admit. Good mojo for the hunters that aren't afraid to own it
http://www.cabelas.com/product/HUNT...=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=03930138&rid=20 wife got me that for Christmas. seems to work very well. I wish it had a longer range. 50 yards was pushing it on the remote ... had to hold it up in the air and stuff like a tv remote with low batteries
I have the same one. I took the jack rabbit and coon v coyote off and added female and male coyote barks. Breeding season starts soon. like to have a few non food calls available
do you hunt them strictly at night? it seemed awkward to me hunting in dark. the flash from the gunshots was pretty awesome though.
sat for 2 sets today. didn't see nothing. fun fact- horses, not a fan of a dying rabbit call. 2 horses free range the farm came over to the sound started snorting and running and stomping. packed it up and moved into the woods but couldn't get anything to come in.
Cool for you guys but I could never hunt coyotes myself. Not that I wouldn't want to shoot one but they really weird me out.. they give me the willys. here's why When I was a little kid my little brother and I had 2 pet rabbits we kept in a big live animal trap that we used as a cage. (we were kind of rednecks haha) . We kept the live animal trap outside pretty close to the house in our little playhouse shed. we'd go out there all summer and feed them and play with them. One morning we came out to see a complete war zone in our playhouse. A small coyote ran into the cage and tore apart our rabbits and trapped himself inside.. blood and rabbit hair/guts everywhere and the coyote was pissed inside the cage. We freaked out. Dad "got rid" of the coyote somehow and washed out of playhouse. I know i am an adult now and shouldn't be such a pussy but that shit traumatizes you and the thought of seeing a coyote again kinda freaks me out.
That sounds nuts! One of the reasons I'm trying to kill them is I don't want them around my kids or pets. They can be dangerous.
going out for coyotes tomorrow afternoon. animals should be moving after the cold spell and in front of the approaching front.
good luck ... I might give it a rip tomorrow evening too. went out last weekend and didn't see anything. I did successfully remove the lense covers on my scope though
never heard of anyone eating coyotes. the pelts can draw decent money ... last I heard it was 50 a pelt. never done it myself though
