Sorry, only a west coast team can stop the caps. The Isles are not deep enough to matchup versus the caps. No one in the east is deep enough to stop them from getting to the cup finals this year. Barring any injuries they will represent the east.
Florida going for 13-0 in their last 13 games with Aaron Ekblad in the lineup. Crushing Chicago 4-0 right now. Darling has been terrible but the Panthers have showed great energy from the start
So the Capitals defeated the Blue Jackets on Tuesday January 19th. From January 19th to February 2nd, the Capitals will play ONE game. This Wednesday January 27th against the Flyers. (Games vs. Ducks and Penguins cancelled, then NHL All-Star Break)
Florida outscoring Chicago and Tampa 8-0 on consecutive nights. This team is complete with Ekblad in the lineup
4-1 now but they dominated Tampa in the 2nd period. Really impressive for sure. Luongo making saves but so was Bishop
Someone told me the Caps have a 3 point lead on them for the President's Trophy and have played 7 fewer games. Crazy stat.
Wideman was just pissed and just decked the ref. I don't consider it an accident. Never seen that before EDIT: Just watched it again and he may have been banged up that he thought the ref was a Predator player or didn't realize the contact he was making. He took a hard hit
part of me is thinking youd have to be a pretty big idiot to think youd get away with decking the ref like that and telling people its an accident. but then again he might actually get away with haha
NHL stars Alex Ovechkin and Jonathan Toews hit with 1-game suspensions for pulling out of All-Star Game
a little different than a suspension basically the NHL saying if you're going to say you're injured, then you can't start playing right after other sports should do the same. Players keep faking injuries so they don't have to play, then they're mysteriously fine right after. Last night, I saw an official who deserved the Wideman treatment Kucherov was driving the net and a Toronto defenseman blatantly grabbed him and impeded him to prevent him from getting a clear shot Kucherov went down to maintain control of his stick, and the call was embellishment on Kucherov, no call on Toronto Toronto power play amazing
Caps are so good that Ovechkin has been replaced by Kuznetsov! Seriously though, I like the move for the Caps, even if Ovechkin's injury is minor. This is the right time to rest him and if there ever was a time he could afford to miss a game, it is right now. Same with Toews.
