OLB is looking like a position that will need to be solidified in the draft unless we're signing a low end free agent (like a John Simon) and praying they turn out to be a solid player. At this point our entire focus needs to be on rushing the passer. I'd rather give up a little in the run game to generate some more pressure. Our 4-5 man rushes do not get to the quarterback at all.

Unfortunately the only two players available that can rush the passer in Hali and Miller are going to command way more than we can afford.

Believe it or not Dwight Freeny had 8 sacks last year with only 255 snaps. Could be a cheap situational pass rusher, and is a free agent.

Was going to make a thread on this topic but decided not to.

If Josh Gordon is reinstated into the NFL and available as a free agent would you want the Jets to go after him?

I can see the two arguments.

Hell yes- pair him with Marshall and decker. Allow Them to mentor him. Gives us three elite receivers. Another big bodied receiver that can also block and help in the run game. Gives us that second outside receiver to allow Decker to fully be in the slot. Take double teams away from marshall and decker. Opens up the run game more. Will come cheap. If signed we can trust it because we can trust Mac and Bowles.

Fuck no- the guys a moron. Has already screwed up to many times. He will never learn. He's been out of football for to long. To big of a risk.

You forgot to add that in all likelihood, there's no way the Jets can afford him.

If we could get him at a low risk contract, I'm all for it. Marshall-Gordon-Decker would be a killer WR trio. And Gordon could eventually replace Marshall.

He will most likely be cheap. I put that in there. Who's gonna pay huge money for a guy that is one instance away from being banned from the NFL

Tamba Hali on the cheap to replace Pace would be a great scenario. He would be a good mentor for Mauldin.

Hali went to Teaneck high school, let's tell the guy to come home.

If Gordon is re-instated he has one year left under contract with the Browns for 1.1 mil.

Forte is an intriguing name, but he's really old and past his prime. Ivory is still an option, but Jets want to go younger. I hate to say it (because I really don't like him), but Lamar Miller may be the guy they go with. I have a feeling tho the Jets will keep powell and draft a RB in the 2nd/3rd round instead.

Please none of those TEs (Draft one late)

I would trade a 7th rounder for Gordon and send him to #14's house so instead he gets high on Fitzmagic.

Yessir, i really want Lamar Miller in green and white. He's a Miami boy..we'll guarantee him a trip home every year and revenge on the dolphins (not sure if revenge is the word but all players love to get at their former team so ... yeah). More importantly he's the duel threat/speedster this offense has been missing out of it's PRIMARY back for years.

if we traded for Josh Gordon that would be huge (if he can play that is)... we'd already have Marshall's replacement on deck. Let him play on the outside while the slot machine eric decker continues to cash in from inside the hashmarks whether it be a deep or short route, ED is unstoppable there... well... unless we're playing in Buffalo i guess.

He can be affordable... no way his agent will allow him to have a high asking price. He'll have to earn that.. expect a 1-year prove it deal.. then another 1 year deal with a decent amount of dough... but still nowhere near what he'd be worth. After that if he has a clean 2 years .. throw him a regular deal. A guy like Brandon Marshall would be the perfect person to take Gordon under his wing. When Marshall retires, Gordon will be there to take his spot, and contract.

Butttttttt this aint happening anyway so fuck it.

I like the thinking in the first paragraph, but I am not sure why you seem so certain in the second.
