You hear so many conflicting things about pit bulls. It just seems like when they go off, its really bad.

Get a dog that does not need to be trained, fed, taken to the Vet, walked, going to keep you on a tight schedule and eat up more of your disposable income.

    You get my drift.

my buddy was one of those who would always mock the idea that pits were viscous too. don't blame the breed! his was such a good dog you couldn't really argue. then that shit happened.

too risky to have one around kids imo. Kind of like the mooslims.

Lol, that's what I'm talking about. I have had dogs all of my life and I can tell you I'm done. I love animals but I'm starting to get a little selfish with my time, energy and money.

Agree completely, had a pit mix for 15 years, got her from Humane Society and just put her down a few months past. Got her when my youngest was around 5 years old and she was great with the kids, never a problem in that regard. She would go out and run in the yard chasing squirrels and rabbits but then when she was in she just wanted to be up on the couch with you. Had a "Pit Bull on Guard" sign on my fence but there was a 99.99% probability of her licking a stranger to death if they came in the gate. Only a couple of times did she show what she would do if the family was threatened and both times were when someone ran up on the wife when she was walking her.

Me either. My son growing up spent the night at 20 or so friends houses, all of them had a dog or multiple dogs, of the those two were pit-bulls, both bit him. They seem to be fine loyal dogs to the adult owners, everyone else is a buffet line.

Same here. 2 pits. Amazing dogs. So sweet and fun. My wife and I will be crushed when they pass. One is 7, the other is 6.

Have you thought about just getting them an XBOX ONE instead? That way when they're sitting on the couch all day playing on the XBOX ONE you can just yell at them about that instead of yelling at them about not walking the dog, who just shit in the corner, because they were sitting on the couch playing XBOX ONE all day. It's much simpler to just yell about one thing. Little brains can pick up your tone and volume level much easier when they're not coping with the smell of dog shit all around them.

And that said I have always been partial to older dogs from the pound who will really appreciate a good home. You don't have to toilet train them and they are used to being abused by kids just sitting on the sofa all day while their pets bladder explodes onto the carpet.

    Labs are great.

this is pure nonsense....moronic really. there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING inherent in a pit that makes them attack

What exactly is moronic about it? I'm telling you what happened.

Any dog can snap, but most of the time when you hear about a dog attacking it's a pit. Such moronic.

Pits are one of my most favorite breeds.

GREAT dogs who love unconditionally. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a dog.

Pitbull owners tend to be a bit different as a group than other owners.

So if you have a bunch of young men (essentially) as the majority of Pitbull owners and they're not as careful with how they train their dogs then the number of incidents is likely to go way up for that breed.

Black Lab owners tend to be middle-aged and more careful in how they train their animals and they were looking for a quiet animal anyway which is why they got a Lab instead of a Pitbull.

Most of the time it's not the dogs fault when somebody gets bit, it's the owner's fault.
