By the way BB's best coaching job was as d coordinator for the Jets in the AFC Championship Game in '98, he had Elway talking to himself
What day are suspensions/fines typically handed out for the previous week? Wednesday? Has it come through yet?
Looks like the NFL is going to let Amendola skate and pretend this never happened. Some articles on it: http://blog.masslive.com/patriots/2016/01/danny_amendola_hit.html http://www.oregonlive.com/nfl/index.ssf/2016/01/watch_danny_amendola_should_be.html http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/01/dan...l-helmet-to-helmet-suspension-vontaze-burfict
By the way, Amendola and Belichick are blatantly lying (which you would expect, New England lies more than any team in the NFL). If Amendola thinks that's a "block", he needs to go back to camp and learn how to block. Both Amendola and Belichick know full well that isn't a legal hit, but they're never going to admit it. New England's idea was to hope to get away with it, and even if not, it's not even a 3 yard penalty, so who cares?
I haven't seen anything that says he won't be fined but, if so, the NFL agrees with Belichick. Which would mean you were wrong. But please, continue the "cheaters, liars, illegal" etc. You are just losing football credibility.
You don't have any football credibility to lose. Please continue to tell us how Belichick thinks it was ok, so therefore there's nothing wrong with it. We should make a list of some of the other things Belichick says are fine, given that he's such an unbiased paragon of virtue.
If Brady got picked off and a defensive player speared him like that (pretending he was "blocking"), the crying from the Patriots and their fans would blow up the Internet. But if a Patriot does it, obviously it's fine. No issue.
He said it was legal, did you even read what he said? I'll wait on the suspension/fines, they should be coming any day now right? Although, they did suspend Burfict on Monday, so...probably no suspension coming.
The suspensions/fines should come along as soon as the NFL reveals what they found in the Spygate tapes.
Why reveal what was on the tapes? We can just ask Bill Belichick what was on them, if it was cheating, and once we have his opinion we can call it a day
If that was legal the hit on Brown was legal. It's only legal cause he is in a Pats uniform. When was the last time someone came flying in and threw a block to stop a punt from being downed? It doesn't happen. It was a scumbag move, he let the punt go over his head. You either fair catch or let it roll, you don't throw a block straight to the head.
Boring. You were much better when you were arguing that the Patriots weren't following the spirit of the rules (FormationGate).
its not even that he "blocked" him from the punt and whether or not that's legal. He launched himself at a player's head away from the play. It was a dirty, unnecessary cheap shot. If he stood there and outstretched his arms to block the player it would be a story about if you can block a player in that situation. But thats not even the story it was head hunting and a disgusting cheap shot. at least in the Burfict play there is an argument to be made he was making a play on the incoming ball and in a BANG BANG play he hits the receiver. In this scenario it was away from the play, completely unnecessary, and the same head hunting
Given up on it? I never said I thought they would suspend him. He's a Patriot. Should he have been suspended? Probably, but what should happen and what does happen are two entirely different things.
