So was Chad. The jets made the playoffs under Mangini's first year primarily because of Schotty and his offense. That defense was atrocious despite Mangini being a defensive genius from the vaunted Bill Belicheck coaching tree. Schotty has worked with some horrid quarterbacks.
He could have scored 100 if he had Sanchez playing for him. He had Shaun Hill so it's all Shaun Hill's fault. You know that.
Shaun Hill got hurt, he was playing w/ a 3rd string QB who attempted his first career NFL p[ass in the game yesterday.
Yep.Schotty was so good with Drew Brees, the Chargers...drafted PhillipRivers... Here.. Yep, Chad Pennington, Brett Favre, Mark Sanchez...all members of the Ryan Leaf club. Oh, and how has Sam Bradford been lighting it up under him as well? Schotty Sucks. Period. there is no intelligent argument otherwise.
He is back, I guess his genius was too much for the Bulldogs so they didn't hire him to be their HC. Indianapolis Colts Derek Lewis - 98 minutes ago (Photo: Kim Klement, USA TODAY Sports) The Colts have lost the man who has tutored Andrew Luck ever since he came into the league in 2012, but the replacement for quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen could be coming into Indy soon. According to ESPN's Adam Caplan the team could be bringing in Brian Schottenheimer to oversee Luck's further growth and development. It was reported earlier Christensen will upgrade his position in Miami, graduating to offensive coordinator for the Dolphins. In his place, the son of former Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer has a chance to put his mark on the team. Schottenheimer has a couple of failed young quarterbacks left in his wake, but he started in the NFL on a high note. While coaching with his dad in San Diego, he was the quarterbacks coach (2002-2005) who oversaw the development of Drew Brees and then Phillip Rivers. However, he had mixed results after moving away from his father. He left to become Jets offensive coordinator from 2006-2011, where he enjoyed back-to-back AFC championship games but also average production out of his young quarterback Mark Sanchez. From there, it was Sam Bradfordand the Rams as offensive coordinator from 2012-2014. That tenure ended with no playoff success and Bradford being traded.
The Colts must be banking on Luck loving the city of Indianapolis because the organization isn't giving him any reason to stay with the organization.
It's amazing how there are so many people associated with football on the collegiate, semi professional and professional levels. Yet, somehow the same small group of bums keep getting retread over and over and over again. Schotty is a QB coach today but the NFL wheel of suck will move him back into position again to be a OC. Some team will look his way soon enough and feel Schotty could be a viable O-Co. My guess is it will probably the Colts in two seasons when things don't work out with Philbin.
Nope he decided to go with the Colts. Also if I had read the article a little more closely I woudl have seen that Philby is going to be a O-Line coach/Assistant Head Coach. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...olts-could-be-an-ominous-sign-for-the-giants/
It's time for the Jags to ROAR! Titans won't be winning anything for a long time. How funny would it be if Luck regressed yet again this season. People think Schotty was a good QB coach, but what coach period lets his hand chosen staff use Color Wristbands to tell a rookie QB what type of throws to make?
his last name helps him tremendously. If he was Brian "Smith" he wouldn't be getting the jobs he continues to get
