If the Jets were to leave New York, would you still be a fan?

jesus Christ he realizes its not going to happen, fuck man do you guys just fall all over yourselves to shit on things? its a hypothetical question, 15 guys coming in telling us how it could never happen is annoying as shit. everyone understands that they aren't moving tomorrow, everyone understands that it would be silly to move.

for me I would probably lose the interest I currently have in nfl football. the entire league has really soured on me and I don't go out of my way to watch games that the jets aren't involved in. I also don't freak out if my kid has a game at the same time or even another team. I prefer to watch college, high school and even youth football over the abortion of mediocrity the nfl has created.

that said if they were to move I would probably not watch much of anything nfl related until they get their shit together and realize that real football fans are more important than fantasy football fans.

Yes, especially if they hired Rex to be their coach again.

Yeah, the London Jets wouldn't work long term for me. Apart from being named after a Zero-G football team (Red Dwarf), loads of new fans of 'my' team would suddenly show up who'd know sod all about the history, pain and SOJ. And they'd change the name and the colours after a few years anyway...so it wouldn't be same. Finally, being in NY gives me and Mrs Donkey an excuse for a holiday, and I can meet my new friends again.

I probably would, but I doubt I would care as much.

For me personally, I would just lose the connection. Players come and go but the team and it's name stay. So say, 5 years after the move, the LA Dragons would have very little connecting them to the New York Jets. Similar to a Browns fan and the Baltimore Ravens.

Yeah, I thought about the Browns/Ravens situation. That had to be very hard for Browns fans, but didn't they get to keep their records and everything in addition to their name except the team itself?

Yep. And yeah, can you imagine following your team from Cleveland to Baltimore? Move to Baltimore in 1996. Surely most Browns fans became Ravens fans. Your Browns return in 1999 so you go back to them. The Ravens win the Super Bowl in 2000, but you can't really enjoy it as you are back to being a Browns fan. Being a Cleveland fan really is the toughest in sports.

Obviously, he did, that's why he started the thread. We obviously did because we responded in thoughtful ways. You really need to stop being an asshat and trying to be the forum police. If you don't like a thread, move along and keep your damn yap shut. Nobody gives a flying fuck what you think about their thread.

Yep, the only thing they have is LeBron and they even lost him for a few years! LOL How long has it been since the Indians were in the WS? Wasn't it when or even before a Feller whose first name is Bob was pitching for them?

Indians should have won the World Series in 1997...They lost in heartbreaking fashion to the Florida Marlins in game 7

They would never leave NY,The NFL isn't gonna move a franchise out of NY.Its a pointless question.I was born in Brooklyn and currently live on Long Island so if they did leave and moved to a state other then NJ I would no longer be a fan of the team

yeah we got that, its a good idea to read at least a couple of the replies to a thread before you just throw the first thing that comes to your mind out there.

too often folks read the op fail to read anything else in the thread and post the first thing that comes to their mind. we went over what you said about 14 times already. we get it.

this post is not directed at you necessarily, you just happened to be the guy that said it last. this pretty much holds true for everyone. its only a 2 page long thread, give it a skim at least.

As miserable as its been and to still remain a loyal fan, I would find this to be the team bailing on me, not the other way around.

I would then strongly consider moving on from the team completely, I'm too loyal to stop rooting for this team but If they were to disown me instead, I would consider using that as an excuse to gtfo for good.

I doubt it though but sometimes. It's a nice thought.

Yeah as really there would be a lot of rioting and a lot of chaos if they left. They bring in the dough as well.
