That last sentence will change once Tex, CC, & Aroid come off the books. Harper is going to get a 10 year 300m+ deal from them.

EDIT - I do agree with a lot of what you are saying though. Its just frusturating to know we have a 1 billion dollar starting rotation and in 2 - 3 years that it'll be gone. We need to win NOW and it just seems like the Coupons aren't doing anything to help that cause.

I understand. The Coupons are from hunger. We know that. We're in good shape in spite of them. Very good shape.

It's takes time to build it the way they did. The window could much more than three years. They started with the pitching. They stocked the system with pitching first as the foundation. Then they started on the position players.

But we are good now. The core of the team is much better now. It's on them to sign some more guys tho. I think they will now. If they don't then that's sad. I think they're gonna pick it up tho, and that it will be about the right fit for their vision of the team. Then time will tell how successful they'll be.

I think they're gonna be much more invested in improving the team. I can't imagine even those twerps letting things go to waste as they are. I think, lol

The other side of the argument is teams like the Cardinals and Royals. You don't have to just spend spend to succeed. That's my point.

Btw, How's that working out for the Angel's? And a bunch of the other teams around the league recently. Harper was a distraction for Nats. That's insanity signing that doosh for that money

I'm looking forward to seeing the early favorite lines. I think we're gonna be high

Yo SNY sign Keith Hernandez already. Don't mess with the best color commentators team in all of baseball, imho.

I got the feeling they low balled Bobby Ojeda.

That would really suck if they did that to Keith. Keith, Ron, and Gary are the best. Love my summer pastime with those guys

Murph completes deal with Nats--$3 years $37.5 million.

Bye Murph, you were a good met and you will be missed.

Kelly Johnson back to Atlanta for the third time. 1 year $2 million. Will also be missed, nice contribution during that stretch.

SF Giants signed Span for three years....In lieu of the fact I figure there's no chance for Cespy, I was hoping for Span to play CF and Lead off. I'm a little disappointed.

Other than Cespy I'm not that excited about what's left in OF's. Maybe Dexter Fowler? He can run and play some D.

    There's Brandon Nimmo looming also.....

I have absolutely no idea why we didn't go after Span or Parra other than we have terrible owners

I wasnt big on the idea of signing Span. He'll get hurt again most likely.

Nats pulled off a nice move the other day getting rid of garbage Drew Storen for Ben Revere.

I was thinking Cespedes had a good shot at ending up in San Fran. Now Im thinking it'll either be the Angels or Tigers.

Word is Justin Upton might have to settle for a 1 year deal in order to be the no doubt top FA next offseason.

Chris Davis still out there too.

Weird how all of thse guys are still unsigned.

Nobody wants to give out a mega deal to a guy that won't be producing after the first 2 or 3 years

Apparently they liked Span, but were concerned about the injuries. Giants went three years and grabbed him.

They just don't wanna do the long term big contracts.....After what the Angels have done it would be incredible to me that they would throw money at Cespy long term.
Maybe by some miracle the market has changed in MLB, and Cespy needs to come down, and we can get him short term

I didn't care about Parra. Sandy said he wants to keep options opened for mid season deals too.

Two teams that with success have raised their payroll: Giants and Royals. Royals gave Alex Gordon big money. He's a great player.

Conforto reminds me of Gordon a little

Seems like all the prominent teams in the NL are getting better except the Mets. When will Nimmo and Dilson Herrera be ready? Are we banking on them to fill out the team? Even in the postseason? How about signing Uribe? Ahhhh

Keith back in the fold. They had to pay Keith, lol

Cespy buzz: the market for huge long term contracts isn't there in MLB and there's a shot at Cespy for two, three years. If a team gives him four years we prolly miss out. If only Cespy would give us a discount

Cespy in NY is a monster and a tremendous draw in the Latin Community throughout the city. It could really take some of the shine away from the Yankees.....Pipe dream I guess tho :(

If he signs a 3 year deal I'm sure some advertisers will try and market the shit out of him just because of the Latino community

No doubt, it's huge. He'll be a draw at the park, and make lot's of money off the field. He'll draw in Latin fans...

Man what a player. Certain players have that flair. You stop what you're doing to watch them hit, or just play

I personally can't stand Cespedes but if we don't find a way to get him on this team I don't feel great heading into this upcoming season.

I can see us easily missing the playoffs if the season started today. We have no punch in our lineup and I guess we're relying on Reed to be our 8th guy. Not saying he can't be, but it doesn't thrill me at all. Unless we are really thinking Nimmo and Herrera get called up and make a big impact right away, our lineup is lackluster, even assuming Conforto progresses. How much can you rely on these young guys in the playoffs in their rookie years? Would have been nice to get at least a Zobrist type of player. Whatever, I could be dead wrong and hope I am.

Fuck it. Give Cespedes what he wants. The reports are he's got 5 years 90 mil offer from the Orioles but may settle on something shorter for more annually. He wants 6 years 22m per but won't get it. Just give him 2 years or something Juan Lagares isn't gonna do shit offensively

At this point its inexcusable for them not to give him something along the lines of 5 for 100. Thats not a contract that would cripple the team and it immediately makes us clear favorites in the division.

If he wants a 1 year prove it deal for 20-25 they should jump on that too.
