It had nothing to do with the skin thickness. Cruz made a stupid comment and paid the price. If he was smart, he would have known that Trump was going to come back with the 9/11 response. That was as stupid as it gets on Cruz's behalf.
But he didn't. Because he had no response. He needed his team of writers to come up with something that would "save" his ass. He's toast.
More likely than not that "innocent" life is gonna come to your house after growing up in a shit life and force you to use your 2nd amendment rights.
And to the folks who are all up in arms with faux outrage over Cruz apparently "attacking" an entire region, why is it that you guys never say anything why liberals like Obama shit all over entire regions of the US such as the South and the Midwest/Great Plains? A pretty good percentage of them are in relation to the percentage of the population in the US that they consist of. I know that blacks are abut 13% of the population and yet nearly 40% of all of the abortions performed are for blacks. Stats dont lie
