Embarrassing, depressing, effed up, etc. Not really enough words but to put it plainly this is a disappointment from a guy who is supposed to be the shining star of our defense. Off season, I think they should have an NFL grow house and sell it in the stands during the game for the fans. Half the NFL's audience is stoned, let the players partake in the real thing, not some friggin synthetic crap.
It came out that it was synthetic weed. I have no problem with anyone getting weed, it's a way of life on the West Coast. But since it's against the rules and it's playoff time, he's a moron - even if it is synthetic.
Sounds like once again the cover up is worse then the crime and will lead to issues under the headline of "protecting the shield." Cops shouldn't have tried to cover for him. Also i think the league comes down hard under the same rule continues to ban smoking when in legalized states.
Ironically what he was using was probably legal and the league will have no policy or testing. He should make a full recovery and be ready for the game too.
Not entirely true. If he is already an offender he would be in the substance program and we would not be aware (1st timers aren't made public). As far as it being legal does not matter exp: Josh Gordon missed a year for drinking beer (you know the top league sponsor). So it is possible to be disciplined under the CBA. The bigger issue is the police covering up. That will be interesting to see it play out. Side note: I believe pot should be legalized in north America, sold like tobacco and taken of the league banned substance list.
Never, I've heard it's absolutely horrific. I live in CA - I just go to the store down the street. It's like a tiffany's with the loupe's and glass and fanciness, except instead of diamonds there's just buds to look at, along with shatter and edibles. I mainly just vape shatter and eat edibles (Korova Black Bar - top notch), but if it's a work function or something I'll toke with customers and colleagues. It's just normal here, cigarettes are frowned upon but not weed.
Yeah that's the whole disgusting thing about it. Aside from just doing stupid shit like this before a playoff game.
http://deadspin.com/report-chandler-jones-hospitalized-after-smoking-synth-1752804994 The NFL doesn’t list synthetic weed as one of their banned substances, but it can punish a player for violating the law. The city of Boston banned synthetic marijuana, but it appears to still be legal in other parts of Massachusetts, including Foxboro. Though the substance usually has “weed” or “marijuana” in its name, the chemistry and effects are totally different than that of the real thing. Crazy story from Deadspin. "I think the league needs to rethink what's banned and what isn't. At least he was coherent enough to realize he was in danger of doing something fucked up like some of the recent instances and got some help.
I would be losing my mind if this was a key Jets defensive player before a playoff game. There's nothing worse than feeling that you care about the outcome of the game more than the players, since they have control over it and you don't.
When I was in the military I smoked K2 or spice which is synthetic and it's horrible I'd rather shoot up herion than ever smoke that shit again
Full recovery? Lmao What recovery? The guy was high as a kite. Not to mention he was at practice the next day. He didn't overdose on anything. He's just no longer high
