Chargers most likely soon to follow.

To go from zero NFL teams in LA to 2 is pretty stupid IMO.

I feel bad for these fanbases. As much as it might suck to be a Jets fan at times there's a good chance we will never have to worry about them relocating.

That has to be more painful than any loss is.

I don't think it's after next season, I think they're going to a temporary LA stadium effective immediately. The NFL.com page already has them changed to the "Los Angeles Rams"

    You're right.

I read that the LA stadium isnt going to be ready until 2019 but apparently they will be playing in temporary venues.

    Sounds like a potential clusterfuck

The Chargers situation is even weirder. San Diego is a perfect place for football/Super Bowl/Pro Bowls and they cant get a new stadium funded?

    Pretty ridiculous

It's really not that big of a deal for the Chargers because the move is only an hour north. A lot of fans (even if they are disgruntled at first and don't want to attend games) still can go see their team.

I feel for the St. Louis fans though. No way to see your team play in person. But also the game times are going to be shifted 3 hours for you as well.

Would they be called the LA Chargers though (I assume they would)

That would piss me off if I was a fan of theirs from San Diego

The coliseum seems like the only logical choice.

You would think a state with that much real estate and that many pro teams there would be other

I wonder if where the LA Galaxy play could hold football. only holds I think 25 thousand though

    UCLA maybe?

Changing venues throughout the season is a fucking scatterbrained idea.

At least Minnesota had 1 venue to formulate some sort of continuity. Hell they even had the field heating system installed under the field just for the season.

Rams belong in LA not a shithole like Saint Louis. Of all the teams that could have moved, I think the Rams make the most sense.

Makes me wonder where the Raiders will go? Even if they give Davis 100 million he's still probably going to skip town. They keep mentioning Portland as a viable option. Some writers out there are smoking crack.....

This sucks. They're leaving St. Louis high and dry for the second time because the city wasn't willing to commit the money to build one of the 8 best stadiums in the NFL.

The real reason they're leaving is that the franchise has been mismanaged for the better part of a decade now and it has turned into an unwatchable mess at times, leading to lower attendance than they'd like to see.

Kroenke said that any NFL team that took the city's offer would fail. Does anybody believe that is true? He should have just kept his mouth shut on the way out of town.

This whole thing with the raiders is absurd.

I heard there's a possibility they could move to San Diego if/when the Chargrrs move to LA

    Now that would be insane.

If that happens that would be a f-cking mess. Raiders fans travel all over California to watch the team. And San Diego fans aren't going to suddenly switch alllegance to the f-cking Raiders least of all. I've lived in both cities and both fan bases are diehard.

Davis was the one owner who had a genuine long term problem. O.co Coliseum is a dump. The league just made a bad situation a lot worse.

Thing is guys San Diego is a great place but I know people who tell me there is a ton of people who live there that are not from SAN DIEGO. There are also a ton of military folks and families there.

Chargers fans although many loyal there just isn't a dedicated fanbase to consistently show up there

No one here remembers the great 80s teams with the Rams and E Dickerson

Conversely as the St Louis fans are losing the original LA Fanbase is winning

Lol who got screwed out of their team when LA left for where? St. Louis? I am sure their are great people and fans there but this move is more in line with the historical NFL which is cool IMO

SMH did you see that stadium????? Pure Hollywood That place is lucky

I could see Woody moving this team one day. More money and out of the Giants shadow. Also after NY railroaded the west side stadium, it would be good revenge for him. Just saying

I could see him, or another owner, moving them out of North Jersey eventually. But never out of the area.

Has there ever been a pro team to move from NY and not go to another borough or Jersey? NY Nets moved to Jersey , thats the only one I can think of.

Are you kidding me? The baseball Giants and the Dodgers used to be NY teams.

Anyway, one has to remember that the San Diego ownership is bad, too. As someone said San Diego is a perfect town to have an NFL team. They get a Super Bowl from time to time, and imo that is a much better venue than LA for that. And despite having Philip Rivers, when was the last time they had a playoff team?

As for St. Louis, of course they used to have the Cardinals, so the Rams moving there was to a town with a history of having an NFL team. Now they will have none again.

Ftr I can understand why the NFL approved the Cards moving to Phoenix. I think it's the fifth largest metro area in the country now, or neck and neck with Philly anyway.

But there was a reason that two teams in LA did not work, and doesn't the NFL remember why both left? Yeah, sure it was partly that the local govts. did not want to help build a stadium. But I also don't think they had much fan support. People have other things to do in LA, hard as it might be for football fans like us to understand.

Imo the NFL is taking a big risk thinking the LA area is going to go in a 2 year period from zero teams to two. Luxury boxes, season tickets, all that, it's a risk.

One other thing, the NYTimes reported that the Rams will be playing for the time being in the LA Coliseum.

Which is where the Raiders played during their LA period.
