You realize you have "Trolls" under your username? I told you a year ago you'd be banned. Not long now!
If you could pick one thread after missing the playoffs, which one is the most stupid? Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
To play along to the poll, it has to Fitzpatrick endzone pick against Bills while in range for a chip shot FG win.
All of them were equally bad. I lean towards the Devin Smith special team fumble because with the other players there was more positive plays than negative ones, Fitz/Marshall/Tvory etc made alot of plays for the Jets this year. For Devin Smith, it would have been better for the Jets that he never walked on the field. Cruel but true.
I don't have a specific play but more so a set of plays. When the Bills fumbled the snap on the punt in the first game against us and we had the ball on the 13 yardline. The 3rd and 4th down calls were the worst calls I have ever seen.
Ugh . This thread is giving me anxiety seeing all these missed opportunities . Then again, I'm sure an equally lengthy list could be made from all the clutch plays we made this year that almost got us into the playoffs (vs dal and 2nd NE game come to mind). Either way I'm putting 2015 season in the bag and all my thoughts to the draft and free agency .
Hard to say it's anything before the Texans loss-- I think losing that game lead to the changes that had us in contention up to and through week 17. So it has to bee in the week 17 game.
The Devin Smith fumble is a close second. But it all comes down to the Fitz pick. We should have beat Buffalo and NE twice this year. Little mistakes really cost the Jets in 2015.
No season was ever "doomed" by just 1 play. Any team has lots of missed opportunities when you look back across 17 games. Ok, so they missed the playoffs. Disappointing yes, but they came from 4-12 to 10-6. More importantly, and this is a first in a loooooong time here, they came together and played as a TEAM. There are lots of guys contributing, not just 3 or 4. They still have stuff to clean up, but this is a damn sight better team than we have seen for a long time here. It should be a better FO than we have had for a long time too, and I think (although the jury is still out) a better coach, potentially, then we have had for a while. Maybe its time for us Jets fans to chill a little and enjoy this for a while, stay behind the team, and see how it all shakes out over the next season or two.
For the people saying it's not just one play, you are correct. HOWEVER, if just one of those plays goes the other way, the Jets are in the playoffs because so many of those games were 1 score games. I didn't include the Patriots first game drop because they were down multiple scores with 2 minutes to play and needed a miraculous comeback. I just realized I forgot to include the 4th down Bills play, where EJ Manuel came into the game and made the Jets jump off sides. That was pathetic. 10-6 is a promising record, but it may be skewed because of the easy schedule. Next year it will be very difficult to repeat this or get better unless major revamps are made to ST, TE, the oline and OLB. Too many glaring weaknesses that get exposed against strong defensive teams or teams with running QBs.
The "lateral". what kind of professional football play was that. I can easy see a scripted lateral, but as an ad lib? Just say no. Lam
I assume you mean against the Bills? Might want to correct that one. But yeah that's about the closest you can come to pinpointing one play that kept us out of the playoffs, the Jets win that game with a TD there and get to the postseason with a game to spare, they might even have had a shot for the division the last week.
Revis getting owned by DeAndre Hopkins aka" all Houston had" for 5 receptions 118 yds 2 TDs. The moment I realized Revis played us again.
