You make a good case that the '08 Seattle loss should be on the list, because as I recall, that was the game where you realized that there was something wrong with Favre and that his stubbornness was going to do us in. They had won a last second victory on an improbable fumble return by Sean Ellis the week before, and Seattle had the one of the worst records in the league at that point. So the loss was bad. Still, the totality of the loss to the Dolphins, who, in the years leading up to that game had been our patsies, with the AFC title on the line, facing Pennington, who was unceremoniously dumped for for Favre before the season, then inexplicably allowed to go to a main rival, and a late game collapse, makes it sting worse for me. If you can believe it, there are some games that I forgot... '10 Championship vs Steelers, '97 Opening Day vs Pats (Vinny tears his achillies and blows the season) and '12 Butt Fumble (we will be reminded of this for years).
There's a pretty decent chance that if we hung on in Denver in 98 we would've beat Atlanta in the Super Bowl. The 2010 loss in Pittsbugh hurts me the most especially after the win the previous week. But I'm not sure how much we would've stood a chance against Green Bay if we won in PIT. But ones that hurt even more than the normal big games is the Christmas Eve game against the Giants. Good chance if we win that game we go to the playoffs and the Giants obviously wouldn't have won it all
Doesn't he suck 12 million times??? He gets paid well by Jets and ruins things in Playoffs What is Boom Booms problem?..
Wayne Fucking Hunter. That lazy sack of trash never bother putting his hand in the ground on the goal line play. Which signaled defenders that Jets were going to pass and of course the guys in front of useless fucking Wayne Hunter drops back in coverage and part of the pass breakup. Shit-for- brains-Tanny & Ridiculous-Rex of course decide it's no big deal & bring useless Wayne Fucking Hunter as the starting RT next season. I think he even received a contract. My memory afterwards involving that scrub is not great because I've tried to black it out. I was so pissed that not only did the Jets bring back that loser, they once again did NOT draft anything decent for the OL. Which guarantees multiple years of that ass wipe stinking it up so bad at RT the whole team had to click on a pretty high level to bring in a win against anybody.
1998 AFC Championship Game with Chris Chandler waiting for us in the Super Bowl Honorable mention to the Pats game in '99, 1st game of the season when Vinny tore his Achilles and the season was over
On top of most of the games mentioned here, for myself one of the many heartbreaking games was the season finale in 97... heading into the game at 9 and 6 needing a win to make it into the playoffs, coming off a 1 win season. we were holding Barry Sanders in check for the first half. only to come out in the second half and run all over us for somewhere around 150 yards... as they carried him off the field... that game hurt especially since I was young and in my second year of rooting for the team.
In '98 I knew the jig was up. I had been planning on a Jets-Vikings Super Bowl since about week 9. I just knew it was going to happen. It was a wild day January 17, 1999 when both teams got beat by lesser teams (IMO), leading to the most disappointing and uninteresting Super Bowl I've ever witnessed.
Watching Boomer this week on Inside the NFL made me want to punch the TV. Condescending piece of shit. btw...Brandon gave Jet fans a very nice shout out. He's a hell of a Jet.
What's your deal? You just joined this week, have but 7 posts to your name yet are responsible for starting these three threads: Biggest Bitch-Slap in Jets History? What was worst Jets loss? Sheldon Richardson Looked Clueless
This would be intelligent troll profiling. No one on the mod crew pays that much attention to this site, so we'll just pretend he's a new poster and let it go for a year.
So many tough losses especially to the Raiders,,,,,,,,but worst of all AFCC game against Denver,,,,won the lottery and Super Bowl tix waiting for me had they won,,,,,,,,very close second Mud bowl,,,,,next ,,,,,Pitt AFCC game,,,,,then 99 hitting Kosar late,,,,last weeks loss goes just below watching Victor Cruz on Xmas eve ,,,,there are many more but these are my tops or bottoms,,,,ps my buddy got married on Fake spike day so luckily I did not witness that in person,,,,,
These lists are always generational so u have to pick accordingly. For those over 40 u have 3 games to choose from......81 WC against the bills, mud bowl, and 86 browns game. IMO its the 86 browns game by a hair over the 81 bills game. For u younger folks, the spike game, 97 lions game, 98 AFC title game, and 99 season opener. Of course u go with the title game but the fake spike game is such a classic SOJ disaster, a close second. For u kids, the 2004 Pitt game and the 2010 Pitt playoff games are neck and neck with the 2004 game probably taking the claim. Oh the painful memories.
