He still thinks Teddy sucks and Carr is a journeyman and Mariota will be out of the league in 2 years.

Big fan of Marquise Lee, though.

Well he is wrong :) But again the guy is a legend. He guessed all QB picks right in the first and second round. This makes him a legend so I still give him the benefit of the doubt.

It's one thing to guess right where they will be picked. It's another to guess wrong about how truly good some of these guys are.

The difference is that unless I'm mistaken, Gurley tore his ACL in the first or second game of the season, whereas Smith tore his at the end or towards the end of the season. Those 2 months are a big difference in timing. In addition, didn't Gurley tear only the ACL? Tearing both the ACL and MCL has got to be much worse, take longer and reduce the chances of the player being the same.

ROFLMAO!!! You couldn't be more wrong. Br4d is totally clueless when it comes to QBs! He has never said one accurate thing about a QB prospect.

Leonard Floyd is who I would target at 20 right now. He can rush the passer and is a very good athlete that can be used in coverage.

At this point Reggie Ragland is looking like a solid pick. I love the way the kid plays on one of the best front 7's in college football history. The worry is that he plays with monsters along his front keeping blockers off him, but we have a bunch of hogs as well. The closing speed he has is unreal, and he seems to be a high character guy with incredible instincts.

Looking back it's really amazing how much we have undervalued the ILB position and how undervalued good linebackers are in general in todays NFL. As of recent if you look at teams that have had 2 All-Pro's or near All-Pro's at the LB position are going to have great defenses regardless of what's around them. The position is such a great leadership position as they can demand greatness from their teammates and can make impact plays reflecting that and feeding a defense the intensity it needs.

    Luke Kuechly & Thomas Davis
    Navorro Bowman & Patrick Willis
    Brian Urlacher & Lance Briggs
    Ray Lewis & Bart Scott

The top two offensive tackles (Tunsil and Stanley) will probably be off the board. That leaves us with Taylor Decker and Jack Conklin, whom I believe do not ever really project to be left tackles. Although I could be wrong.

Thanks for the clarification. If you're just busting Stokes balls, carry on. ;)

Actually, I was wrong too. I thought you were referring to Bradway (or however you spell his username) who's a good poster, and knowledgeable in other areas, but I've never seen him make one correct statement about QB prospects. My apologies Br4d!!!

Melvin Gordon isn't even comparable to Ezekiel Eliot... it's not even close. Eliot is border line elite. He's not Todd Gurley, but he has no weaknesses in his game at all. I don't know how deep or good his class is outside of the QBS, but if this is a weak first round, I'd take him in round one any day of the week.

Fair enough. I like what I've seen from him, and I have a couple friends who are diehard OSU fans watching his game every week. They rave about him. If you look at the top runningbacks in the league they're mostly not first round picks.

At the same time 7 of the top 10 NFL rushers were first round picks but that list is comprised of a decent amount of guys on the downward trend of their career (McFadden, Gore, DeAngelo, Jonathan Stewart).

I guess there's no formula, but my point is you can find guys like Bell, Lamar Miller, Matt Forte, Lacy, Shady McCoy, etc. deeper in the draft.

Quite frankly I do not see this as the year of landing some big first round talent. It is not a very good draft to start and we do not have a good draft pick. This is a draft to hope for good later round picks. Lets see what the Magic man can do

I'm pretty sure Br4dwaysux changed his name to "br4d" and all of his old posts now reflect that change. Whether or not you are right about bradway's ability to evaluate Qbs, I think you two are talking about the same guy.

I know they are one in the same.

And both of him hates Teddy, Carr and Mariota.

I wish Idzik had taken Teddy when he fell to us, too. But did Br4d really hate Mariota? I'm pretty sure he simply didn't want us to trade up for Mariota, which was completely reasonable. If he didn't want us to take Mariota at the 6th pick I stand corrected.

Thanks, obviously I didn't know that. In that case, I retract my apology to him! ;) LOL

Another draft thread turned into QB's that arent on the Jets. They should have their own stickied thread.

Since I doubt there will be a franchise LT at 20, I'm looking at Ragland or trading back. Picking up an additional 3rd or 4th. Get some bonus picks so we can use one on a development QB/Punter. Players of that ilk.

At pick #20 I think we can get a nice player at guard, inside linebacker, or running back.

Depending on how far they fall we could move up as high as pick #10-12 and get that pass rusher or left tackle that other teams will have to game plan for.

With limited cap space and aging veterans at the core of our team we need to make some good decisions in this off-season.
