Supposedly, the Jets are high on Simon, and he probably has a good chance to make the team. I'd love to see Harrison make the team at least as a backup, if not the starter at RG. It would be nice if Saxon or Bostick could make the squad and enable the Jets to get rid of Cumberland and Kellen Davis, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I'd also love to see Howsare make the team as a backup OLB, STs player and as the team's FB and see Bohannon gone. Again, I'm not gonna hold my breath.
Thought we got a lot of use out of the practice squad/waiver wire this year. I'm hoping Saxton and Harrison become future contributers. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
Simon should take over for Snacks when he leaves in free agency. Bostick has been a pariah since botching that onside kick in the NFCCG last year against Seattle.
I really would love for Anderson to stick. Either as a true WE or a good special teams guy like a PR/KR.
The Jets have signed two more players to futures contracts, CB Kendall James and OG Craig Watts. James is a former 6th round pick from 2014, originally drafted by the Minnesota Vikingsout of Maine. Unfortunately he was cut before the season started and spent most of 2014 on the Vikings practice squad before moving to the practice squads of the Chargers,Browns and Lions. He'll now arrive at the Jets complex looking to compete. He's lean and small but he is fiery. He is also very quick on film, his strength has always been a question mark. The jets have previously worked our James in December. Watts is a 6'3, 335lb guard out of West Texas A&M, originally signed by the San Diego Chargers after going undrafted in 2014. He was up and down on the practice squad, and got suspended in 2014 for using performance enhancing drugs. He is likely a camp body.
The Jets on Monday announced the signing of four more players to reserve/futures contracts, bringing their total for the 2016 offseason to 14. [This isn't quite accurate, NY Post. The Jets had already announced the signing of Watts, so it should be three more players.] The four players are tight end Adrien Robinson, offensive tackle Jesse Davis, offensive guard Craig Watts, and offensive lineman Lawrence Okoye. Robinson had been a fourth-round pick of theGiants in 2012. Giants general manager Jerry Reese once referred to him as "the Jason Pierre-Paul of tight ends," but Robinson never lived to that billing. Robinson started just one game in three seasons with the Giants and was cut at the end of training camp last September. Davis was an undrafted free agent signed by the Seahawks last spring who was later cut during training camp. Watts had shuffled between the Chargers' practice squad and active roster the last two seasons after signing as an undrafted free agent in May 2014. He was released last month. Okoye had finished the 2015 season on the Jets' practice squad. He joined the Jets in November, but he is best known as a discus thrower who placed 12th at the 2012 London Olympics, at which he competed for Great Britain. The Jets had signed nine players to reserve/futures contracts last Tuesday, and they added defensive back Kendall Davis to that list two days later.
Is he JJ Watts, JJ Watt's long-lost cousin? Please? EDIT: Nevermind. It's Craig, guys. Craig Watts. The long lost cousin of Tim Fugger.
