I agree. I was expecting him to attack the loss and the organization as a whole. He talked about the turn around from 4 wins to 10, how he thought Fitzpatrick should be back, how great the offense was...
Yeah I get it...but the glasses iam seeing this thru are colored 47 years of frustration So if we go 11-5 and Bowles fucks it up I should be happy?... He lost my trust after this shit Having a stistically great year or record means nothing to me at this point...sorry. A championship says it all
My guess is an empathetic address. No need to kill something again. HOWEVER, next year when Buffalo comes up on the schedule you put the newspaper clippings from this year all over the walls and then hope people run through them.
I'm surprised that the offense taking their sweet freaking time at the 3:49 mark against the Bills would've been discussed at length this week. Maybe I missed it. We ran what 4 plays in 2 minutes right down to the 2:00 minute warning when we had 14 seconds before the warning to run that 3rd down play. Then you can punt and or go for it on 4th and still have 3 stoppages rather than 100% needing to convert.
He knows Bowles from when he coached on Parcells staff. All he is doing is protecting people he likes and knows personally. If you listen to him enough you can predict his opinions by how much he likes a guy.
The idea was that you'd get the wind in the 4th quarter I suppose. Bowles ignored the fact that wind can change over several hours...
Get real. Every first time HC learns on the job. How are you supposed to learn to be a HC when you're busy doing a totally different job and have other things to think about? You can pick up some stuff and think about what you'll do if you get the opportunity, but thinking about it and then actually doing it are two different things. You really are being obtuse. Sorry you either haven't learned much in 47 years following the team, forgot everything you learned, or just decided to be a negative nancy. If Mac were to fire Bowles and hire Coughlin, I would be done with the Jets.
TC was also a coach there for 11 years...this is Bowles first as a head coach and first in NY...I think he gets a bit of leeway here.
Bowles will be a good coach, give the guy a chance for GOD sakes. Next season there will be no excuses to being a first year coach and the expectations and pressure will be much higher. That's when we will begin to see what he's made of.
Also that it was vital to get off to a fast start. If we would have stepped on them early they would have quit and the fourth quarter would have been mop up duty.
Yes, I mean I wasn't agreeing with Bowles going against the wind, but I was rationalizing what he was thinking. Buffalo also isn't a team built to play from behind. If we went up even 7-0 and forced a 3 and out with good field position they probably would've folded immediately. Bowles has to correct the slow starts badly. With a defense built to annihilate run games, it could be deadly for this team to go up 14-0 on anyone.
I like Bowles alot actually and think that he could be here for a very long time....Comes across as genuine, sharp, even-keeled, and willing to learn from mistakes. He wasn't perfect this season but he got solid results and handled himself extremely well throughout the season. I also think players like his straight to the point and no bullshit style....It's definitely one that the modern NFL player can respect and play for As for Francesa, he loves Parcells and obviously Bowles is a Parcells disciple. Francesa was also touting Bowles as the best potential head coach of the bunch around this time last season so he can't back out now Francesa actually has been positive overall about Mac and Bowles....He still will throw in cheap shots about the Jets history but has been nothing but complimentary about the current team
A) He's pro Bowles cause he's a Parcells guy B) It'd be a bit douchey even for him to rip the Jets when they were a circus then continue to rip them after the circus went to Buffalo C) He's gotta lay low anyway since Rex was a main target of his ire, he can't rag on the Jets without giving Rex credit which he won't do
