It is pretty intresting,The tiebreaker rules are a joke. Its amazing we have a better record then two teams currently in the playoffs and the same record as 3 other teams in the playoffs. But here we are,the NFL needs to expand the playoffs and have 3 Wild Card teams. 10-6 teams shouldn't be sitting home in January while 9-7 teams get in.They should do away with divisions entirely, then you would really find out how good teams are when they don't play teams like the Browns,Titans,And Jaguars twice a year

It's easy to forget about all the plays that did go our way this season when we won a lot of close games. You could spend all offseason trying to pinpoint play(s) or player(s) to blame for missing the playoffs and we probably will.

My point is that I think the 2015 Jets simply weren't good enough to be a playoff team. Hopefully the trajectory is upwards and next year the team us better.

geno did not play yesterday. yet, the defense failed to show up. how long did the bills have the ball with the wind against them? what was their 3rd down conversion rate? geno had nothing to do with either. fitz is a backup, not a starter.
he is this decades version of pennington, except not as successful in the w-l stats. same problem in bad weather with the pop-gun arm.

I'm sure losing to Buffalo twice, New England, Philadelphia, and Houston had nothing to do with us missing the playoffs. It was totally our backup QB losing a game due to questionable coaching.

I see this a lot and it is fucking ridiculous.
Comparing Fitz to Pennington is absurd.

When it comes to intelligence as a QB, Fitz is a mental midget next to Chad, and a whole lot closer to Geno.

Geno doesn't throw that pick would we have won the game?

    Interesting.

The problem is that the title of your thread suggests otherwise.

I see your point about Geno, but I think the blame should rest squarely on Jets ex-punter Steve Weatherford for getting cut and opening the door for Quigley's 20 yd punt yesterday.

Not scoring twice in the redzone against the Bills in November and yesterday cost us a playoff spot. I would place more blame on Quigely than Geno, since Quigely basically granted the Bills seven points.

Well... if we would've beat the Raiders, our record would've been 11-5 against the Steelers 10-6, so the tiebreaker wouldn't have even come into play. Therefore, this thread makes no sense. And I'm a "Geno hater".

Good idea. Let's dilute the best playoff system in professional sports like the rest of the leagues and let nearly half of the rosters in. March Madness in January baby!!!!
