Have to look at picking up another WR. We are one injury away from being a one-man WR squad. Devin Smith won't be back until maybe halfway through the year. Shepard, Cooper, or Coley. Addison on Oregon is a good returner as well. Those guys can be had in the later rounds I figure the top OLB and ILB guys will be gone by our pick so it depends on who we like.
If you like a QB with a 1st/2nd round grade, you might as well go ahead and draft him in the 1st so to get that extra year.
Usually I dont like the idea of an olineman in the 1st round but looking at the prospects projected to be drafted around 20 , it might be the best way to go. Stanley and Conklin are both going to be great pro's but most likely both will be gone. Taylor Decker might be the best choice, but I would also trade up 5 spots for either of those other 2 guys.
A WR? Every WR core in the league is one injury away from being a "one-man WR squad." Happened to the Packers, Bears, Panthers, Pats, Ravens, Chargers this year and some of those teams went to a zero-man squad. Absolutely no way we draft a WR in round 1 one year after taking Smith in round 2 with Decker, Marshall, and Enunwa still under contract. We have immediate needs at OL and LB and could use help immediately or sooner than WR at least at QB, RB, TE, and CB. Taking a couple guys late in the draft would be okay but unless an Amari Cooper falls to 20 we shouldn't even consider a WR.
My bad, was talking about the draft in general. The guys I mentioned wouldn't be our first round pick, more like rounds 2-5. But in regards to the top ILB and OLB, they will likely be gone before our pick. Maybe we grab one of the backers from Georgia at 20, Floyd or Jenkins. More than likely we'll grab the top OL guy on our board
Gotta get younger on the O-line, and I wouldnt mind a Running Back like Elliot. We def need a linebacker that can keep up with the Tight Ends of the league
We need to address the offensive lime. It's been years. The 2017 class at RB is absolutely loaded. We can sign a guy like Alfred Morris on a one-year deal and re-sign Powell. We can sign Lamar Miller in FA. We have options I just think RB is easier to fill than OL and its time to draft Brick, Mangold and or Breno's replacement. Consider NE's rotating set of RBs. Bills drafted Karlos Williams later in draft. Seattle has Thomas Rawls. Cardinals have David Johnson. I'm not necessarily opposed to Elliot but you are only good as your offensive line. Plus it's a passing league now it's wise to use picks to protect the QB
Oh okay. I totally agree in general should look at adding a couple guys late. Inexcusable how Stefon Diggs went 5th round last year.
What if they all suck? Being the top 2 QBs this year is like being the skinniest chick at the fat farm. _
That was by design because Washington didn't want to pay him in my opinion. Look at his career numbers. He probably not the right fit but just showing you there are plenty of alternatives.
Hackenberg is so terrible I can't get over why people would ever want him on any team. I hope we go OLB or OT with the first pick- The OT on this team are horrendous.
I think he's one of the worst QBs I've ever seen and easily the most overhyped. But he's big, so he has that going for him. _
http://www.sbnation.com/nfl-mock-dr...-draft-titans-browns-chargers-cowboys-jaguars First one... 20. New York Jets: Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State The only running back under contract for the Jets next season is Zac Stacy, who is currently on injured reserve. Elliott is an instant-impact running back when he's given the opportunity, which he strangely didn't get enough at Ohio State.
I'll be pulling for him considering we are 20th. We need to resign Bilal...If we are able to get a legit OT or LB that blows us away I think I like the all-purpose game of Eze Seems like a good guy
