You know what's really nauseating? The Jets are the only team with a winning record to not make the playoffs.
Definitely in on bringing Fitz back. 2-year deal sounds about right, but come that final year I hope it's Petty taking over and Fitz in their to back him up.
Congrats on a good season but the timing of this post was a little odd. Fitz was pure trash today and was a big reason we lost this game.
Second most passing yards in a season for a Jet. Second only to Namath's absurd 4,007 yards in 1967 during a 14 game season.
The timing of this thread couldn't be better.. All in all a good season by Fitz. I'm not sure if he is the answer or not either way I fell Mac will make the right move at QB.
You guys keep talking about the timing of the thread. I am confused. It happened today. When should I post it? March?
It's a perfectly appropriate thread. Offsets the "we suck" threads infecting the board. Fitz had a GREAT year. _
Agreed. When you look back on the year you will feel proud and realize what a fun season it was. Today though: awful feeling. Both Bills losses hurt more not because the team lost to Rex, but the team lost to themselves. Stings more.
Why the fuck are you here? Would you have rather not seen the record broken because it's "not impressive"? How is it not an accomplishment? If youre a fan of this team you just saw some offensive records broken this season. Some 20 years old, hell some even 50. You chose a team that has had abysmal QBs for its entire history. This man came in here, defied all doubters and set team records. 31 TDs is an accomplishment if you knew shit about this team. We don't have the luxury to be blessed at QB. You just witnessed the best single season by a Jets QB statistically speaking and all you have is to say it's "not an accomplishment" because of the past? Give credit where it's due or fuck yourself and find a new team troll.
Unless the number is guaranteed and really high, it's going to have to be a 3 year deal for him to sign. No reason he would sign a 1 year deal. Some desperate team would pay him to lead their team to a non-playoff season.
I get people being hesitant about Fitzpatrick, given his past, but he is definitely the best option available for 2016.
Not to dismiss Fitzy's accomplishments this season, but if it weren't for Marshall and Decker, there isn't a person on this board who'd be congratulating him. The fact is that both of them (Marshall in particular) made BIG catches that propelled the team to win close games. I do hope he comes back, but the silver lining in this loss is that he most likely won't be as marketable, thus enabling the Jets to retain him as a hold-the-fort guy at a more affordable cost.
We could have NOT made the playoffs with Geno Smith as starter. When the game was on the line, he threw a terrible pass. Funny I don't remember Joe Namath throwing a key pick during the superbowl season with a season on the line. His stats mean nothing since the Jets came up short in their playoff bid. Lam (and yes I remember the 1968 season)
